Re: tragic day for the BallerMaro (pics soon)

I just assume everyone on the road is a horrible driver and watch everyone as best as I can. I've avoided a lot of accidents with this mindset. However, I probably have an ulcer from being the passenger in my gf's car. Once we didn't even get out of a parking spot before someone blew their horn at her.

        ohhhhh noesssss

I freaked when someone backed into the koamaro at school, I'd go crazy if this happened.
Just take it easy, at least you have that LS1 to have fun with right?

But the damage is totally repairable. I totally agree with the years of hardwork and tons of money poured into the car to only have it destroyed in a moments notice.

I agree with bliz, when I drive I look at EVERY single car, if I see them driving funny I get away from there as soon as I can.

My gf drives funny too, windows down, music on full blast, cutting ppl off, and tail gating like a mofo. I get nauseous everytime she drives but I love that hoe so its all good.

Baller, I have a stock hood you can have. I know its no use to you where I'm at, but I want you to know you can have it. I'ma go write your name on it. haha.

My bad, your in the 10 percent of women who can drive. And no I did not claim to be an F1 driver. But go stick it pirate this is the internet I am glad you can bash me and I hope it makes you feel better. But go ahead and stick up for women drivers. I would much rather be at a four way stop with all men.

I should've gotten some video of my little night cruise tonight. Full moon, smooth pavement, and 60* weather made for the perfect drive on my favorite backroad. Sometimes it's hard not to hit those corners at double the recommended speed. :P

Hell, I'll even throw this out there... for all four of the accidents and incidents my car has been involved in, every one of the drivers of the other vehicle was at fault and was male. To make matters worse, my car was either parked out of the way or sitting perfectly still in traffic each and every time. Of those, two were not paying attention while driving (either texting or not paying attention to traffic), one backed up without looking behind his truck or in his mirrors, and another was just being careless about other people's property.

Well G. I am sorry I generalized about women being bad drivers. But I know it is a fact that the people who dont maintain their ****, like tire pressure can effect things a lot. And double the recomended is a begininng point for gauging speed in turns. Triple is barrier.

I think that the worst drivers are actually those people you see on the highway, two hands on the wheel, arms stiffly out like they got rigimortis set in or something, and completely upright in there chair...like they are scared of the road and are holding on for dear life...I see these people doing exactly the posted speedlimit on the road. To me, these people are scared...and that is dangerous...because if you are scared to be driving, then you are a hazard on the road as you will not have the reaction time when something happens...instead you'll be stuck panicking...those are the kind of people who just freeze up when **** hits the fan.

Then you have the people who are busy doing everything buy watching the road...I've seen both male and female do it...I don't think being a sh*tty drive is gender specific at all...I think there are just too many idiots around period.

Anyways...best advice (although it doesnt apply in this situation) anyone ever gave me was to drive as if you are a ghost on the road and no one can see you...I really took this to heart the first 2-3 years I had my car...I was convinced cops couldn't see me either Can't count how many radar traps I blew through doing 30k over and didn't get caught...with the guy staring right down the gun...anyways, I have since adjusted my driving to only "cops" can see me :p

yeah this was a test of my limits and ability to maintain composure, that's for sure. it happened right on my gf's street so she had to come and literally back me away from this girl once i lost my cool (when she was trying to say it was my fault). but yep, i have the ls1 to keep me sane and the jeep to get around in still, but i have the greatest attachment to the BallerMaro seeing as i've had her since i was 19 and put so much time into her.

i appreciate the offer on the hood --- i'll keep you posted if the insurance gives me a hard time about it, but i have my eyes on upgrading to an SS hood :D

thing is, i always drive that car with such precision, care, and awareness, and everyone i know sees that. it takes me forever to even park it somewhere bc i have to find the perfect spot away from any sort of danger or other careless ppl, and when i'm driving, i'm extremely attentive to other drivers, but this girl gave me no room to work with. if i could've gotten out of her way i could probably dodge bullets too --- that's how little time she gave me.

if and when i get her back in top shape, she'll be babied and looked after relentlessly haha. it kills me every time i go in the garage to leave and her spot is sitting there empty :(

I wrecked my 02 once. Put it in a ditch. Completely my ignorant fault. I was young and stupid. Just turned 18. It really hurt to see it missing from the driveway. Didn't total it and got it back in pretty much brand new condition. That damn car is so solid which is why it's my backup in case my turbo'd ever dies. lmao, it was in way worse condition than your car is baller so don't feel so bad. I didn't appreciate it at the time as much as I do now though. So I can only imagine how you feel.

haha you sent her on a search and destroy mission didn't you?

amen to that, i think it's ironic that i can tear @ss through the twisties and unknown backroads at ridiculous speed and be in total control, but leaving my neighborhood a girl barely out of puberty takes me out

Its not bashing if your opinion is detrimental to other members of this board, especially female members. Stupidity isn't limited to females. Male drivers are just as bad.

QFT. I hate to say it, because I despise a liar, but after my experiences, especially since my cars are all now older (read: low blue book) and I've dumped a LOT of money into just taking care of basic maintenance, the next time someone hits me, I *might* be a little sore, until we figure out what the money's going to be.

That, of course, is if the other driver even has insurance
