Okay so today I paypal articbir45 the money for the PD headunit. Got it for 750 never been used. And shortly after I open a letter I got in the mail from state farm that says my insurance is going to increase around 400 every six months on my 08 for focus (DD). :omg: So now im standing here with my thumb up my a$$. My insurance for both of my cars every six months is like 1400 or some outrageous $h*t. Ive only had one ticket and one wreck with the focus (which wasnt my fault). The kicker is the letter said it was for a wreck I got into in Jan. of 07. Which I did not even have the car in Jan. of 07. And now im afraid if i call and say something they will tell me the premiums are going up on BOTH cars. So needless to say im probably going to have to sell one of them. Or switch insurance companies.

The focus is way more reliable, but the insurance is more because it is a new car. And I love my firebird, im trying to get this blower done and the insurance is significantly lower. So I dont know WTF to do.

That doesn't make sense. Did you get into an accident January 2007 or not?

If no, then it is probably a mistake, call them up and explain there was no accident.

If yes.....and it wasn't your fault.... usually that shouldn't raise your insurance costs.

I'm thinking there is WAY more to this story.

sounds like they screwed up. Call them and explain. If they still don't budge then it is definitely time to switch. They are just trying to get more money out of you

Im 19, and i did get into a wreck in 07 with the firebird but the guy I hit ran a light. And it was not in Jan. I dont know Im hoping they F***ed up. And if they try to say it is because of the ticket im going to call BS cause it was less than 10 over. But even so I need to find another insurance company, cause either way they are rapeing me.

be thankful your not living over here...I know guys that pay around 5g's when they were 18-19 for insurance...CLEAN record...on ONE car...

Call around and get some quotes from other companies. Some may be more and others may be less. But you may luck out, as some companies won't raise your insurance due to a no-fault accident. I've got a policy with Safeco (soon to be Liberty Mutual) and have claimed two no-fault accidents in the past two years and never saw an increase in payments.

I'm also just about to add another car on, which will only raise it about $200 per 6 months (old cars ftw).

LETZRIDE- that is F***ing crazy, at that price I probably would just drive without insurance.
Pace- Ill def have to look around. I know the other companies will see the wreck, but 400 dollars is a rediculous increase.
I mean come on, its not like i killed someone.

19 yeah, they'll get you alright. Esp. if you have a sportscar.

I've had State Farm for 15 years but I dropped them after they decided to increase my rate because of the neighborhood I was living in. I'm assuming it's high in auto theft. My wife and I we have perfect driving record with no accidents of our own.

Well I went with Geico and I saved more than 50%. I wish I could've done it a long time ago.

I went through a insurance agent/broker and they found me Progressive with the cheapest price , for basic coverage $35, but I will be adding 15,000 more coverage on it in June and I think it was $70 a month full coverage ,glass, towing. I haven't had a ticket on my record since 1998 through and no fault accidents. My exwife had tickets and acouple at fault accidents so it raised the hell out of our month payments. Also if you have your house and other polices with them they give you 15% off here and there. When I had Allstate they were ripping me off for like 10 years, out of 13-14 years I was with them.

What year is the Firebird? I saw the word BLOWER on the same line.

If you have to sell, you'd get more from the '08 and then make the Firebird more reliable. Don't let the woman change your mind, if you have one.

Just like my '96 Camaro with 312,000 miles with basic maintenance and smart tool investments for happy wrenching.

What kind of ticket did you get? A bad one will result in an insurance jump like that when they run your record.
