yes yes..looking twice can save a life...and a lot of heart ache.. I literally get pissed about it cause Looking twice would have saved me a **** ton of grief. Me looking twice, i would have noticed the distance he was covering, which would have made me NOT turn.
On another note. Ive found two so far. MINT rollors for under 800 bucks. one has leather and both arent t tops...SAD FACE.

Glad everyone is good. I wouldn't buy a roller just fix what you need, your list isn't too much even with paint maybe $1000-$1500. If you do most the work on the body , then have new glass which around here is $125-$200 new, then to paint the areas maybe $300-$500. Then find new/used parts. The front body parts come off easy and you can swap out the door fender and front bumper pretty cheap. The spindle and suspension isn't too much either. Salvage yards are good. There are about 2-3 F bodies here being rollers $450 to $1000 on craigslist which they would take about half probably since they have been on there awhile, 1 guy is giving parts away if you come and take them off.

Sorry to hear about your car. Glad everyone is ok and I really hope you find a roller :)! I'd say its your fault for not yielding and his fault for speeding. We all make mistakes :). Did either of you get ticketed?
BUT i didn't know he was speeding so How could i have made that judgement?
This is sort of like judging relative speed of other vehicles when you are merging or maintaining safe distance with the flow of traffic. Take a look at inexperienced drivers first learning to drive on the highway, they gas and then brake while attempting to maintain speed. This is the same basic skill, so just apply that skill to judging speed of other vehicles while you're yielding.
Experienced drivers learn to judge the speed of other vehicles on the road. This is how you avoid getting hit and know when you've properly yielded. You should also remember vehicles and drivers need time to react and brake in the event your judgment about their speed turns out wrong. For instance a bike or large vehicle takes much longer to brake than say a sports car. So you shouldn't go with the "well they've got brakes" option :).
Sounds like you were not at fault to me. Motorcycles speeds are harder to judge than cars. I'm not sure the average driver would have been able to judge it better given the identical situation. I would say that you should take partial blame for not judging his excess speed but in everyday situations we don't precieve people traveling excess speeds on roads. Most people are driving the speed limit or 5 over/under. You can't be held responsible for not being able to judge thee speed of an unusually fast motorcycle. If so, we should blame gunshot victims for not dodging the bullet. Besides when someone is speeding on a road with other drivers, they should take the liability for endangering themselves and others. It's a fine line between having fun and being stupid. I just hope the other guy is okay.
Little while ago a bike was speeding and weaving in and out of interstate traffic and cut off a small SUV. The driver of the SUV swerved to miss the bike and ended up loosing control, drove off an overpass. All four people in the SUV died. Witnesses say the motorcycle driver just kept on going like nothing ever happened.
I still look twice and give bikes space, but that little lesson taught me that one is better to let a motorcycle hit you than to try to swerve to miss it.
Last week on monday it rained 4 inches in one day, in a total of 2 hours. I was driving home in it at 60mph in the passing lane, (because the slow lane is horrendous) and I get passed by a semi truck on the right. Not a big deal, but he moves into the passing lane to get out of the crappy lane and slows down to 55. So I pass him. Or I make the move to pass him. Right about midway through the trailer he just changes lanes. No lights, nothin. Just runs me off the road. I had my lights on, and even flashed my brights at him, but he just moved into the passing lane and stayed there for the next 8 miles. I was PISSED. But I don't know what he saw, due to all the rain. Maybe he just couldnt judge my distance.
And yes, flashing lights could've indicated safe to change lanes, but usually I do that by flashing them off, not brighter.
None of us were there so we can't really make a judgment on who was at fault. Also, none of us are judge judy. Or judge joe brown. Or judge jeanine pirro, judge alex, or judge mathis.
The bike pushed my DOOR hinges an inch deep into the body. Getting those to straighten out and be perfect again is almost near impossible for a do it your selfer like me. trust me Ive assessed it and I'm going to have to get a roller :(
The door hinges are removable from what I remember, they have to be moveable/adjustable to set the door correctly. If its JUST the hindges that are bent out of shape, you can get new ones.

no.....LIKE pushed the HINGES deep into the body. as in where the hinge mounts to and everything is pushed back. Its no noticible from a distance. buy you get close and out yeah...its pushed all the wayy in.
