i'm happy to say that after being off the road since aug 30th 2009, my camaro is now back up and running.

for those of you who don't know, i had my son oct 8th 09. said to say that aug 30th i could no longer fit behind the wheel lmao.

now i'm back in my zeros, my son is almost 8 months old, and my camaro finally left the garage today.

she's been on jack stands since january when i started to do a few de-mods. then long story short i decided to drop my tranny. that opened a whole new can of worms.

long story short....just about everythinggggg is new and she is back up and going!

i won't be able to take her out much since she is farrrr from a daily driver (no a/c or heat) only free ac(t tops) and no back seat. now that is perfect for me....the way i built her. but it's not good for a baby. i take him into philly with me everyday since he stays while my aunt who is around the corner from my work. soooo i must drive the mali-booty.

but the hubby is off tomorrow, sooooo what day is tomorrow

    HAPPY CAMARO DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh and you should have seen how dirty she was after 9 months of sitting:rolleyes:

I've had people try to race me lately too. Cylinder for cylinder or at a "disadvantage" it feels damn good to whoop on some people with a 3.8.

If I have to sacrifice anything on the maro I'm never having a kid on purpose.

When you gonna get out to the track again to see how that car is really running?

            I don't even have a kid and I don't give 2 sh!ts about your camaro!

(I'm sorry.... the comedian in me could NOT resist that joke. It was sitting on my shoulder prodding me in the side of the head with a pitchfork while laughing maniacally.)

I assure you with the 6 close friends of mine, all with 2-4 kids each, after awhile, you'll learn that your personal interests are all that save your mind from being around your child 24/7. I have seen parents that have learned to take their children in moderation do better with their kids, and then I have seen parents who have CRACKED after being around them all the time.

The feeling of having a kid is new, probably will be for 18-24 months. But hopefully you find a way to integrate your interests as well, for the sake of a healthy mind. I seriously can't think of one parent that has given up everything for good in the name of their children. You'll eventually find interest in the Camaro again. I hope its sooner than later.

Wes nailed it up there 100%. I have 2 kids AND love my 'maro. It's ridiculous to believe you can't have both in your life. Hell, my kids love the 'maro too.

It was a very open 3 lane highway, no one else was around at all. Otherwise I wouldn't do it. Gimme a little credit, I'm not that stupid.

I'm gonna have to go with wes on this one. Everything in moderation has worked out pretty good for me so far. I would like a kid that can eventually be independent but I can understand when they're still very young.

My friend has been taking his kid to the track since he was 2 or 3 years old and his kid loves it.

                    Re: she's backkkkkkkkkkk

                    let me re-word.

my camaro was my LIFE. building and taking care of the car was the main interest in my life since i was 19. didn't think that anything would ever come before her. than when i had my son, i didn't even look at her for a good 4 months. that is when i started to work on her again. i found joy in gabe's 5-7pm naps because that was my time to work on my camaro for a few months. i finished her on sunday and rolled her out of the garage and i don't think the smile on my face could be any bigger. i did not find it hard to roll out of my drive way while my husband stood there with the baby. then on monday i got that beautiful zen feeling while driving her. not a care in the world with the t tops off, music up and nitrous at my toes :excited:

when i said don't give 2 sh!ts, i mean that nothing will ever come before you family and you will one day understand that

                      Re: she's backkkkkkkkkkk

I know what Kristen is saying and it makes perfect sense. I have 2 boys, 15 years old and 5 years old. I keep my cars very clean at all times and my kids respect that. However, the other day, my 5 year old spilled something in the back of my Firebird and he looked at me like I was going to get mad.

I laughed, pulled over, and we cleaned it up together.

The point is that your children hold a much higher value then a vehicle ever would.

I remember years back, if one of my friends spilled somehting in my car I would have been PISSED.....

                        Oh, I forgot one part...

                        Kristen,
Any chance to put the rear seat back in so that when your son gets a bit older you could enjoy the Camaro together?

That's on her list of things to do, but before Gabe can get back there he's gonna need some ear muffs. Her car is obnoxiously loud.

Oh jeese yeah. I know if I had kids and it was a choice between the two for whatever the reason may be, I know it wouldn't take me a second to give up the Camaro. However, without needing to make a choice like that, I still believe you can enjoy both when you can't put em together. Pshhh get to the track. :D
