WOOT! New computer

I finally bought a new PC. The old Dell / XP computer was just getting slow as mud. The most recent interim "fix" was to disable the screen saver. The computer was having trouble just generating the screen saver animation and then recovering back into normal mode.

I guess 8 years is not too bad.

After my wife has verfied that everything she needs is on the new HP, I'll strip the old Dell down and set it up for my younger son. The monitor on the Dell happened to die the other day, so we've been using an old 15" CRT monitor I pulled down from the attic.

It is nice to be able to enjoy moving faat between interweb pages again.

Its just a basic walmart.com special - not a high-powered gaming computer.

Cool, I just got done building my new rig not too long ago. BFBC2 is destroying my social life, lol

Coolio! Just don't tell anyone how much you paid for it. From my experience, apparently one of the top 10 rules of the internet is "If someone else just bought a new computer, tell them by how much they overpaid for it and tell them how much money they could have saved if they only asked you to build it for them."

Nice! New computers are always fun.

I think I'm going to buy a new one in the next few days (probably a macbook pro). My current one took a beating through 4 years of college.

That's not bad... not bad at all! Actually that's a lot lower than I expected, granted I've been out of the PC hardware loop since I got my car
