Talk to me when you have THAT under your belt and tell me you wouldn't have it any other way.
This is slightly off topic, but REGARDLESS of what you may have experienced, its VERY VERY VERY difficult to determine someones mind and actions. Just because you would react one way to a situation, doesn't mean another person would act the SAME way in the same situation. Its ignorant to assume so. So lets play this scenario out...

You are in the service. You see this crackhead from Westboro Baptist Church, you beat his ***. He in turn has you arrested for atleast battery, and at most an assault charge, a felony. Whatever branch of service will then discharge you dishonorably due to a possible felony conviction, in which you will lose whatever you had coming to you for your work in the service. But not only do you dishonor yourself, you dishonor the service with your act, in turn, dishonoring and putting to shame the same people you "THOUGHT" you were honoring by beating this guys ***. All you would have done is put shame upon the very souls that have served this country, effectively doing the same damage as this guy from Westboro, all because you couldn't keep your emotions in check.

My guess is, without asking, you're enlisted. From all the officers I have met in the 4 branches, NONE of them would have even mentioned such acts upon another for their freedom of speech, regardless of how horrible such said speech is.

Best thing you could EVER do for your friends lost in war, and for yourself, is to IGNORE IT. These people, as terribly skewed their grasp of reality is, have a right to free speech without harassment from an entity of the government (in this instance, harrassment from an enlisted serviceman). Its what you agreed to fight for, this is what you accepted. Threatening and harassing these individuals defies the very reason why you are fighting a war, defies our democracy, and defies the constitution you signed a contract to protect.

To summarize, it really pisses me off to hear that someone else would react the same way about something that you would. Get fuct. You honestly have no idea how the next person would react, its absurd to think you know EXACTLY what that individual will do.

Everyone seems to think the military are a bunch of robots with no families, lives, or feelings. My point was not literal, just that I knew these people existed overseas, but had no idea such harshness was in the hearts of my own people. And I am a ranger non commissioned officer, but rank nothing to do with it. We're all comerades.
I see everyones point, wes, bird of prey, just want everyone to see it from my point as well. That's all.

            Re: Religion VS America

There's absolutely nothing wrong with anyone speaking their mind... the freedom of speech that has been granted to us by God and protected from infringement by the constitution applies to everyone... and I don't buy the concept that just because speech is free that it shouldn't be checked by the people... not the government, the people, and that's why it is perfectly okay for me to do what I want (within the law) to shut them up, if that meant yelling louder than they do at one of their protests, or if it means gathering a crowd ten times larger than theirs etc... That doesn't mean that I'm infringing on their freedom of speech... People are free to say whatever the hell they want but if it's something as perverse as this, than other free people have the right to call them out or drown them out... (all within the law, of course...)

That being said, I'll say again... best to just ignore

You guys really give them too much credit... They're only 1 church made up of one family of inbred hicks. They and their radical views have been in and out of the news since at least 5 or 6 years ago. Considering how many people have sworn their lives to killing some of them, no one has acted on it which is all the better since it would only give them more publicity. That's all they want: publicity to get their views out there.

So... again... Just ignore them. Don't even go to your friends and say "Hey look at this video someone posted on the camarov6 forum of this crazy christian". Just ignore their very existance and you and your friends will sleep better at night. They will always be protected by the 1st amendment anyway.

This stuff with Westboro has been going on for years. Don't get me wrong, I FEEL the same way, always have, but at the same time, you have to look at the situation logically. HINDERING their freedom of speech tends to put one in a paradox. Although I feel like these people need to die from testicular and ovarian cancer, I can't go out on a limb and say that I would hurt them for what they are saying.

Id rather beat the **** out of someone for cutting me off on the road, honestly.

                  Re: Religion VS America

Unfortunately they are Americans who have the rights to express their opinion. And it's nothing more than just that. I wouldn't take them seriously.

It's like Obama's preacher, Rev. Wright, who spoke a lot of malice about the US and a lot of negative stuff towards white people. I'm not white, but even I find his reverends speech insane. And Obama gave 30k to this guy and then dumped him when he became President.

I do however take extremist like the Panthers seriously. They were blocking the polling booth where a lot of white people go too with one guy holding billy club in his hand. This is pure terror.

The oldest daughter is the family lawyer. Bred and educated to protect the family "business".

There was actually a funeral for a local soldier about an hour away from where I live not too long ago. But... interestingly enough, that area is part of a territory that belongs to a "gang" of common-interest people that have dedicated their time to escorting and protecting the families of fallen soldiers from such protests or pickets at these funerals. Phelps's crew was far away from this gathering.

I don't think that stuff would work in AZ , people protesting military funerals. They would be blocked off by police , since for their gathering they have to apply for it through the state or county and they decide where they can be at, other than that they could be arrested for unlawful gathering. AZ has alot of useful laws on the books.

Yes, thats a good one, crime rate has went down, imagine that! LOL Over 200 drop houses seized by the police also, stolen cars , assualts/rap, and thefts have went down in the #'s. They usually increase every year but this year since the law that passed they have dropped, and alot of people are moving away to a city near you. LOL
