Lol... Yep, no joke. I can't even see the video here, but as soon as I read Westboro, I knew the deal. The morning show on 100.5 down here has Shirley Phelps on a few times a month. They are nut cases for sure.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with anyone speaking their mind... the freedom of speech that has been granted to us by God and protected from infringement by the constitution applies to everyone... and I don't buy the concept that just because speech is free that it shouldn't be checked by the people... not the government, the people, and that's why it is perfectly okay for me to do what I want (within the law) to shut them up, if that meant yelling louder than they do at one of their protests, or if it means gathering a crowd ten times larger than theirs etc... That doesn't mean that I'm infringing on their freedom of speech... People are free to say whatever the hell they want but if it's something as perverse as this, than other free people have the right to call them out or drown them out... (all within the law, of course...)
That being said, I'll say again... best to just ignore

There was actually a funeral for a local soldier about an hour away from where I live not too long ago. But... interestingly enough, that area is part of a territory that belongs to a "gang" of common-interest people that have dedicated their time to escorting and protecting the families of fallen soldiers from such protests or pickets at these funerals. Phelps's crew was far away from this gathering.
Now that I've heard of. Didn't even have to see the video. BIG thanks for the special interests protecting the sanctity of the farewell of a fallen son/daughter. Protesting a funeral (what in god's name?) is just taking things WAY too far. Personally, I feel he who dances on the grave is doomed to feel the footsteps of those who came after him.
I just don't see how the state would let this go on, just pass a law on where a protest can be held , and they have to file it with the state in order to hold a protest and the state can choose the setting for their protest. At leeast that way they can be arrested for unlawful conduct and trespassing if their not in the area where the state sets them to protest. We just had alot of hispanics arressted at a state building because they started a protest in front of it, with no one filling a protest with the right angency their illegally protesting which they were all arrested. Thats what the states should do or like Bird of Prey said ignore them and they would probably go away with no publicity around them.

It DOES have its limits though, and those limits don't allow it to go far.

Yes, thats a good one, crime rate has went down, imagine that! LOL Over 200 drop houses seized by the police also, stolen cars , assualts/rap, and thefts have went down in the #'s. They usually increase every year but this year since the law that passed they have dropped, and alot of people are moving away to a city near you. LOL

Same here, we have always mowed are own lawns, but I see other people have guys come out, always a white boss and all hispanic workers, same with guys doing landscaping and sprinklers. At least the ones hanging out at Homedepot and lowes are fewer and fewer. LOL
If they move out there they will hang out at the corners looking for work, which they don't pay taxes and get free housing, medical and food stamps to support their 6 kids, and their 20 years old.
