Its always baffled me as to why the gay community gets opposition from being married. It affects ABSOLUTELY NO ONE outside of the marriage. My life will be completely indifferent when gays are allowed to marry. It will affect me in no way, shape, or form.

I guess what I would want to know is in what way would your life change if gays were allowed to marry? What part of your personal life would be affected?

Wes... it would benefit the economy. A married couple with no kids pays high taxes.

Well, I'm unsure of the tax benefit. Two individuals will probably pay the same amount, they would probably still get a break for being married. However, I'm not that well versed in that portion of the tax code. It's the typical backwoods mentality, anything slightly different than their perceived norm results in a backlash.

What I'm saying is a married couple without kids pays more in taxes than a married couple with children.

Read my last post, I just explained it to you. Someone studying evolution would know this.

you not getting it. sometimes genes dont have to be passed on for the behavior to transferred to the next generation, it is taught. the Romans had a LOT more gay/bisexual men because the government and society endorsed it, not because their genes were screwed up.

What I explained was only one facet of human evolution. Society, environment, MANY MANY factors involve evolution. But its naive to think that you can get rid of homosexuality by FORCING them not to do what they do. Doesn't work like that. Its not a trait that is taught down to the next generation. Its not a product of environment. Gays are everywhere, in all races, environments, in all parts of society. The behavior is no different than the behavior of any heterosexual, because all humans are different, but in there differences, the same.

Yes, the genes will continue to be passed down, and there will always be gay people. however, i still dont think it makes sense to endorse a marriage that goes against the way nature had intended things.
