If this country were ruled only by "tradition", women would have no rights and we'd all own slaves.
Same sex marriage in no way infringes on the rights of others. People simply disagree with it. Therefore, by banning it altogether, we'd be infringing on the first amendment rights of homosexuals. Not only would such a law banning same-sex marriage be a violation of ones right to free speech, it would be completely against the "separation of church and state" ideology specifically stated in our constitution.
(QMFT... Quoting Myself For Truth... When all is said and done, as much as you'd like to, you can not constitutionally infringe on the rights of homosexuals, no matter how "unnatural" you believe them to be.)
Yes, the genes will continue to be passed down, and there will always be gay people. however, i still dont think it makes sense to endorse a marriage that goes against the way nature had intended things.
Marriage in itself is not a natural concept. Its a man made concept.

It has nothing to do with separation of Church and State, and the constitution does not say anywhere that anything goes and everyone can do whatever they want regardless. The first amendment does not say everything for everyone all the time, freedom of speech does not mean that whatever you feel to be right is right, it guarantees you the right to voice your opinion and does not guarantee that your opinion is right and true. I am so sick of the constant raping of the constitution to suit every tom **** and harry so they can feel justified. This is not simply allowing gays to be together, it is about allowing a group of people to redefine words to suit their own meanings, regardless of the real meaning and context of the words. Marriage has always been the word defining the covenant between a man and a woman and it has never meant anything other. What gives others the right to make me understand a word as they would have even if it departs from the original, natural, and historical meaning? Have any of you ever read the book 1984?? This sounds very similar. The fact that this was voted on and the voters have spoken in most places means something also. Also, homosexuality is not genetic it is psychological. For every study purporting the genetic theory, there are many more for the psychological.
That doesn't mean they are redefined correctly or are needed to be redefined. Most words that have been in the vernacular for so long and have an amount of "sacredness" attached to them are seldom if ever redefined. The majority of the words which are redefined are they type of slang. Also, the harm I see in it is that if we allow them to redefine marriage however they feel at the given moment, what is next?? Where is the line??

What line do you see in the first place? I could care less if a woman marry's a gorilla, it does not affect me in any way, shape, or form, NOR does it affect you.

I see the line you apparently do not see. It affects society as a whole whether or not you feel it affects you personally.
Im curious how. I don't see how its negatively affected society in any way. No one has died due to homosexuality in itself, wars are not started because of it.

The question is not about homosexuality in and of itself, and war is not the only way people die besides. You may not see negative effects as of yet due to the very fact that it is so limited. The fact is that even long term homosexual relationships are very seldom seen. I see nothing other here than an attempt to justify the behavior of those people in order that they can feel that they are in the right and everyone else is in the wrong and that they only have the right to decide what is now proper, tradition and right and normal.

I have never seen such attitude from it before, ever. All they want is the same rights as everyone else. They have not pushed their beliefs onto you, which is a trait some fundamental christians fail to do themselves.
