Anyone remember the South Park episode about gay marriage? "Instead of calling you..married, you'll be butt buddies".

Personally I could care less what two people of the same sex want to do, as long as they aren't doing it on my lawn.

On the other hand, I would venture to guess that the majority of homosexuals in this country vote liberal. So I will remain opposed to same sex marriage because it's one of the few political topics that we can use to annoy the left.

Traditional values was how this country was founded. I am not opposed to "change", but the socialist regime thats running the country right now is failing more than Rosie O'Donnell does at trying to be beautiful. Obama is a narcissistic man-child who couldn't run a Wendy's french fry machine much less an entire country.

    I miss President Bush.

I agree, but why not just call it something else?

Because it would require the rewriting of thousands of state and federal laws to make up for the change of the word itself.

I just skipped to the last page.

It always cracks me up when people say the sanctity of marriage is ruined if gay people can marry..... in today's society people get divorced and remarried at the drop of a hat - that's sanctity of marriage?!?!?!?!

I'm all for everyone, man n woman - man and man - woman and woman, marrying.

              Here you go:

-Chicago Tribune: This weekend's gay pride parade in Chicago will have a new group participating - students and parents from a local elementary school.
Nettlehorst Elementary - both gay and straight - approached organizers and asked to march in the parade on Sunday, which goes right past the school in East Lakeview.
Parade coordinator Rich Pfeiffer says he thinks the inclusion of youngsters shows the vastness of the gay community.
He says events like the parade expose children to the different type of people in the world.

-Aug. 8, 2010 Fresno Weekly: Fresno Gay Pride Parade sponsored by Kathy Griffin
School age children are taught diversity by going on a field trip to a Pride Parade.

-Sun TImes: San Diego City School system allowed a number of small children to march inside of the San Diego Gay Pride parade under the banner of one of its schools, despite the parents disapproval. children were brought into the midst of a number of businesses promoting pornography and nearly nude men and women in graphic sexualized demonstrations. It is by far one of the most grotesque and heinous acts that the San Diego City School system has ever engaged in and action must be taken to sanction the school that did this horrific act. The San Diego Cooperative Charter School operates a public school, grades K-8, under the jurisdiction of the San Diego Unified School District at 2850 Sixth Avenue.

You want me to go on.

Did you know that Public Schools here in Calif. are now carrying books that teaches K-8 that Gay movement is equal to the Civil Rights movement. Gay books are being ordered by Public Schools that talks about how Gay men like having sex with pubescence boys and tasting their fresh ejaculated sperm. They prose and poetry about such orgies.

So for anyone to say this doesn't affect any of us is delusional.

How do I know this? I'm an Education Resource Coordinator. This is why religious enrolment are going up here in Calif. But now they are being sued for discrimination for not employing gay men and women. Just last week the Evangelical School was sued for 70k by a man who was hired to be their teacher and then started teaching the children about his homosexuality. School policy on this was over ruled by the court. So much for seperation of church and state. This btw didn't garner any media attention.

As far as Atheists who are against this most of them are well educated. My professor who teaches Anatomy and Microbiology who is as liberal as they come said this is not natural by any means as nature intented. Even Dawkins said, "our 'changing moral zeitgeist' They are just being over shadowed by religion.

Hey Thor, remind me how taking your child to a gay pride parade is different from taking your child to church.

I guess that's why I'm an atheist: my parents didn't brainwash me at a young age. (In all fairness, the same could be said of why I'm not a devil worshiper, either.)

Thats not force if you're asking to participate. No force involved, so this example can be thrown out as being force.

Field trips CANNOT be forced on by a school, parental consent is required. Again, no force seen here, so the example can also be thrown out.

This looks more like a opinion piece than it does a news article. Can't say it didn't happen, so there might be some merit in it....just don't know.

So for anyone to say this doesn't affect any of us is delusional.
Doesn't affect me. I don't give two ****s about some other individuals rugrats and their extracurricular activities in gay parades. Not my business.

No way that is in a school text book. No way at all. I want to know the book, I will never believe this myself unless I see it in print and ordered by the school. That is so preposterous its not even believable. Not saying you're lying Edgar, but THAT is so over the top is rediculous.

Believe me, I've already seen it and I've even paraphrase from it. There's a debate going on about that here.

A children's book on why I have Two Daddies were ban in elementary in 2005 and wouldn't you know it's back on school circulation in 2007. Like I said stuff like this is not getting media attention at all because the liberal medias which employs a lot of gays are protecting this movements agenda.

If you think I'm lying then I've just gone against my belief of the commandments.

Consider this. Minors can get an abortion here Calif without the parents consent. Condoms are handed out in elementary schools here, again, without the parents consent. So do you think they need the parents consent to take them to gay pride parades?

Have you ever been to a gay pride parade? I have. My bodybuilding friends who are gay participate in this and I used to watch them. This was when I was an liberal atheist. It's purely an orgy scene. And yes, I still have those same friends today. They know where I stand on this issue and they respect that.

It's up to you if you want your kids to participate in this, but let it not be inclusive.

You're dodging my point. Point is, taking a child to church to brainwash them with "homosexuality is bad" is the same as taking a child to a gay pride parade and brainwashing them with "homosexuality is good." I'm not condoning either when it comes to how to raise a child, but I find it highly hypocritical to say brainwashing a child at church is OK but brainwashing at a gay rights gathering is unacceptable. Why would one treatment of a child be better than the other? Both are opinions based on beliefs, not cold hard facts.

So yes, I suppose I am admitting that my defense of homosexuality is based on little more than a certain kind of "faith": a faith in the belief that all humans are created equal and entitled to certain unalienable rights, including but not limited to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I also have faith that the good people of this country will continue to be accepting of all cultures and lifestyles, not limited only to lifestyles similar to their own. But you know, my faith is tested every day when I hear of unpatriotic Americans (of course never missing a chance to declare themselves "patriotic") attempting to deny other American citizens of the rights we too often take for granted; I lose hope in "the American spirit" when two consenting adults are denied the right to wed simply because overly conservative bigots find it "gross" or "unnatural", constantly citing passages from a book that condones child abuse, slavery, and killing those who have been raped. I lose faith when people try to pass a law that bans something that would in no way shape or form negatively affect their lives or the lives of others.

One irrational defense of the law to ban same-sex marriage is "where is the line drawn?". I could use the same irrationality to ask the same question in opposition of said law: If gay marriage is banned, will interracial marriage be banned next? What about marriage between peoples of two religions or two cultures? Just who decides what a "traditional" marriage is? Even to this day there are people who look down upon such "untraditional" marriages, but I'll be damned if laws will be put in place to prevent them.

You bring up very vaild points in both of these paragraphs. (about church/parade).

Also, in your second paragraph, I don't think you will ever know who or what defines marriage and you will never have a proper definition of marriage unless it is tied to something that has always been the same and will never change.
