2001 camaro purchase?

Looking at a low mileage(79000) car today for possible purchase for my son. 2001 hardtop, with all options minus Monsoon and leather.Are there any model year specific issues that I need to be aware of?

Between 1998-1999, I think they worked out most of the bugs for this body style.

I have a 2000 hardtop camaro and will be hitting 79K soon, as long as its in good shape there aren't kinks (minus the whole L36 misfire thing)

not really, 95/96+ was basically the same exact car with different body panels

buy it. Good car and nice body style. Maybe buy him a 454 to throw in it too and he will tell everyone his dad is the best :D

Went to look at it yesterday, and of course its not as good as I was told. Mostly cosmetic with lots of paint chips and a very large crease in the passsenger rear quarter.

My guess is at least $1500 in bodywork and paint. Will keep looking for my boy!

Everyone knows that camaros are cooler than firebirds. Thus, the camaro lives on. Enough said. :)

yea quarter panel work sucks, did some of that and it is impossible to get it to come out perfect, I mean it is a ton of work but can be done to make it look good if you have the time.

I remember how my dad wanted to buy a 1988 Trans Am for my brother during his high school year, but when he saw the cost of insurance he got him a Toyota Corolla instead.
