  • Manlyhood?

F*ck that damn Miata. The water pump soured quickly, so I start tearing into it on Thursday morning. Friday at noon, I get it installed, re-timed, and start bolting it all back together. Well, guess what happened? I broke a valve cover bolt that somehow made it stick like glue to the block. Pulling it off didnt work, hammer and chisel didnt work, even a crow bar didnt work to get the valve cover off. So, me being the drunk genius I was at that moment fired up the dremmel and CUT the valve cover off. To top it off, I couldnt find one locally that isnt cheaper than $400. So, today I sold that piece of sh!t to someone who has a 5.0 waiting to be put in it. I said f*ck it. It handled well, drove well, but had as much horsepower as a fat chick trying to roll off the bed. So I'm out of a car, again. No, I do not want another f-body. Just something I can work on and not break it. Maybe an earlier year Eagle Talon AWD TSi or something like that. I will NEVER buy another one of those Miatas unless it has 1000hp 3.4 and a built in magic lottery machine.

I found a 90 talon tsi awd in muskogee (90 miles away) for 1000. Needs cleaned up and a new exhaust. Not a bad snag, to be honest. I also found a 240z 4 speed that needs a gas tank for 800. I'll be buying one of them tomorrow, definitely. Suggestions?

LOL. Both of those cars are notorious for breaking stuff easily and are a huge PITA to work on. Good luck. If I were you I'd find a simple beater car to drive daily and then get a project car that you can work on.

Better look over every nook and cranny of that S30 for rust. Datsuns are notorious for it. Although to be honest... that L24 isn't going to be much better than the Miata, acceleration-wise. NA 2.4L are *yawn* slow.

I think that miata was faster rolling down hill than in a straight line. But, on a better note, I may be buying another xbox soon.:D

... fired up the dremmel and CUT the valve cover off.
Based on these two statements, I recommend you get a car with a warranty and DON'T work on it... lol
