I went as far as possible while keeping it my DD. I dumped way too much time and energy trying to make a v6 go fast. had a supercharged one, had a turbo one, both built motors.. only thing I didn't do was bottom end or nitrous. it wasnt a wall I couldn't climb. But I was at the point where there wasn't a single part on the car (almost) that had not been touched or modified in some way. thats pretty much what I call hitting a wall.

But now I have 3 cars. TA for speed, Audi for DD, and Wrangler for fun. And a house and wife to keep track of. So I'll be busy for a while :)

i have my beata but when the car is sitting in the garage and maybe only comes out a few times a year, you buy a house, you have a kid......trust me, your car isn't the first thing on your mind anymore. there are better things in life.

Gotta agree with Dave & Kristen, I have probably spent about 8k over the years modding my car. Every part of the car has been taken apart, off, or replaced. No one wants to do anything again so you move on to better things.

Just off the top of my head:
Wheels, tires, engine, trans, driveshaft, rearend, stereo(multiple times), seats, mats, t-tops, bumper, paint, radiator, k-member, door panels, sills, gfx, exhaust, headers, brake setup, lights.

I have basically replaced or changed out everything since i bought my car 6 years ago

I also think everyone's running out of new ideas, granted I never did a lot of modding, but I put some time and care into the maro.

                Say what!?

Last time I added it up, I had about 12k in mods and it's still a v6 with intake and exhaust...

                That's depressing.

Mines about 18K with 2 paint jobs(1 cheap, 1 done right), suspension, interior, exterior, turbo kit and motor work since Dec. 1995. But I had alot of great deals and $100 labor jobs that would of added up to more than $5000 from GM mechanics also free parts, like a ALM. driveshaft, 2 Torsen Diffs. with new bearings and a set of 3.42's for example. Also GM Goodwrench lifetime warranties on A/C compressors, ALt., water pump and starters.

96' Camaro M5 to A4 conversion, alot of mods . GT35R Turbo full suspension. Built engine

eek... maybe i am off. My trick was alot of my stuff i was able to sell off so nothing costs too too much. My v8 swap really only cost me about 2k after i sold all of my old stuff

Re: So who all is still here from the old crew?

I have a wife, 2 kids, a house, i'm in college and i'm in the military and i still find time to mess with my cars. Its just a hobby and fun hobbies cost money and take time. If you never do anything for yourself, even if its just modding a car, then your life will pass you by even faster.

Tom, you should just park that thing in a garage and forget about it for a while. Its sweet and in 10 years it'll give you a better appreciation towards it. You too troy.

Yeah, but I couldn't enjoy something as much knowing everything that went into it was someone else' blood sweat and tears. These cars become personalized with each owner. Built not bought hooah! That is all.

I spent around 15k including the car. ended up selling it for around 8k I think. It's something you have gotta love doing. Definitely not an investment by any means. haha.
