Got pulled over in the 'maro back in august one night after I had gotten off of work and met up with the fellas to play some pool and have a beer, very low key night. Same jack@ss cop that gives all the locals hell and gets his rocks off on screwing people, so I expected trouble. Long story short, I had already closed my cutout, had the windows down, and he pulls me over for "speeding", in which I told him I saw him coming a long ways away and was doing 6mph over the limit, so he drops that right off and asks me to cut on my halos --- then comes back with an illegal equipment ticket. I step out and politely dispute the offense and lay on some facts about halos/leds and luxury cars with them from factory (including the new camaro itself), in which he proceeds to tell me that he would pull over "every bmw/audi/camaro/luxury car with similar lights even from factory" :bs: total shenanigans i say.
I brought all my facts to court today and the judge swears me in to testify, so I lay out the law verbatim which clearly states the equipment is legal as long as it meets or exceeds SAE or DOT certification standards, which the ccfl dual halos do, and also that they were purchased and installed by a certified dealership (they were replaced bc of the accident), and I had just passed my VA state inspection. The cop tried to tell the judge that "each led and halo counts as an accessory light and could be viewed as it's own headlight", to which I laid out facts about audi producing all LED headlights which are approved from manufacturing and photographic evidence of all the varieties of bmw/benz/camaro/etc with halos and LED lighting.
Court ruled not guilty --- he looked like a total fool and stuttered over his words while I piled on the facts. Point for the good guys.
Take it from me fellas, don't put up with people's sh!t.
