The bubble at the top of the forums keeps telling me to introduce myself, so I guess I will!
The name is Taylor, and I'm a student working as a martial arts instructor for the college. Doing what I love to pay for my degree, it works well. I live in rural Oregon, at the end of a long winding country road up in the mountains. I had a beater '89 Ford Ranger since I was 16, and the thing needed to be put out of it's misery. I wanted something that would tackle the mountain roads with gusto, so a Craig's list raid netted me a very clean '97 Firebird with just over 100k miles, bone stock.
Within a week I had the cooling and ignition system overhauled with heavy-duty gear, and a hi-flo cat and a custom madrel cat-back system built by a friend who owns a muffler shop. My baby purrs, and I'll have pics of her to put up soon.
I plan on modding her with mostly bolt-ons, as money allows. The next two mods I have in mind for the foreseeable future would be a cold-air kit and a more aggressive computer chip, but unfortunately it seems a lot of the 97 f-body stuff has been discontinued. Any suggestions on where I can pick up an idiot proof cold-air kit and computer?
EDIT: I needs new shocks, too. I'd like something that can handle a gravel road without rattling my teeth out, and still corner nice on the switch-backs.
