There are far uglier hoods.... like 4" cowls for example.
cowl hoods are sweet...plus they can have double function depending on your setup...bring in cold air, and cool the engine bay...I think they look awesome on a cammed car where you'll see them shakin away at a stop light...
Looks good, nice to see another person from AZ here. I agree cowl hoods are sweet I wish I would of went with a 4" cowl hood , but since I got my new 3" SS hood for $200 I couldn't pass it up. I made mine functional for the front to bring in outside air to the top of the engine and will be drilling the rear so it can pull out the hot air esp. when I get the turbo on it.That hood flows better with the 98+ body than it does with earlier models. Nice job on the car though , are you a member of AZFBA?

Weird, I think they're ugly as sin (Examples: 1, 2, 3, 4). lol Maybe I just think this way because I'm used to every white-trash backyard beater muscle car in my area having one. Anyway, my point is more to say that this guy's hood is awesome. I don't mean to hijack the thread.
I like the Ultra-Z hood, always have. I would have it HANDS DOWN over a cowl hood. I had one on my 97 for three weeks before the brother smashed it. My 97 looked AWESOME with it on there.

well how about this one...I think this one looks like sex, especially with the hood pins...I want my car to look exactly like this one.

Sry I'm still not digging it. I like the low profile lines of 4th gens and big cowls just ruin it for me. To me it just looks like a hood to allow for a larger CID engine, unlike a hood with an intake that's used for better air intake.
2" cowls can look good.... 4" and 6" just get obnoxious. Just my opinion.
if there is nothing under a 4" cowl then its just a little stupid if you ask me. also if you want your car to look exactly like that it better have some muscle to back up the look.
my car does look exactly like that, seeing as how its mine. And Jarred's right, I've got a little to back it up. Abbott N/A setup with bolt on's/tune. I wasn't aware of any paperwork the hood come with that said certain mods have to be installed to run the hood though;)

yea but what would be the point? itd be kinda extreme/stupid to put big and littles and a parachute on a stock 3.4 with a huge cowl hood. dont you think?
Hey guys. For starters I’ve always been a big car guy, I love all types of cars and can appreciate all types of engineering. I’ve always been a Chevy...
