Sucks. I'm sitting in a big room with about 50+ people, waiting for my panel to be called, while playing on the iPhone. I've been waiting for an hour and a half, and nothing has happened. This is pissing me off.

BTW, I'm getting paid $17.50 a day to be here, instead of the $29.15 an hour I make for actually being at work. I hope I don't spend it all in one place.

    Re: Jury Duty

I just got the letter telling me I need to do it... in Ohio (where I don't live anymore). I sent in the exception form.... just got a note in the mail saying I never sent in the "questionnaire" and am about to be in trouble (even though the questionnaire is just for them to pick the jurors).

    Oh well

        Re: Jury Duty

I was selected late last year to serve jury duty in the small town where my parents live. I waited nearly 4 hours. Once we were in the court room I found out that the case involved insurance fraud against my former employer so I was dismissed.

Ive been assigned twice. Told them the first time I was in college and couldn't come and second time told them I was out of state on vacation so couldn't come. Both were true and both got me out of having to go :)

I've been lucky and never had it, but they should pay you more than 17.50 per day. That's ridiculous. They should pay you a wage because in a lot of cases jury duty can last multiple weeks. Is it only today?

Thats becuase unless its certified mail and you sign for it ,they can't make you go for jury duty. They can't prove you got the letter, I have never went about 4 times now. learned that in the Academy, because once they find out your law enforcement and worked Corrections your out anyways so its a waste of time. I will only go when they come in person and have me sign for the letter to go.
