  • Test drove the new V6 Stang

Went to the OC Autoshow today. This show is extremely popular and it gets a lot of celebrities to come down to promote it, like Leno and Seinfeld. Fantasy Football or Lingerie Football Players were there, UFC Champs were there, Camaro Designer was there too.

Anyway they have a test and drive event. GM on one side and Ford on the other side and Toyota and Honda on the other. Anyway, GM is packed and so was Ford. GM had their Corvettes and Camaros out and that had a long line that goes around the building. Ford had the Cobras, Boss, and other Mustangs out. I couldn't get in to those high HP ones, but I got in the V6 Mustang and that was all I can drive. I should've gone during the weekday where they was less people.

All I can say is WOW!!! The V6 Stang hauls. It feels just as fast as a stock LS1 if not slightly faster. It doesn't have the same torque though, but once you step on that pedal it pulls you straight. It was auto and you don't feel it shifting at all.

Hate to say this but the 312hp V6 Camaro I test drove last month doesn't come close this. V6 Stang feels very light, while the V6 Camaro you can feel it's heaviness.

Wow I'm surprised, not really though the new Camaros are bulky, the Vette is the real deal. I want a supercharged or turbo chargred(by a private Co.) Black on black 2011 Vette.

Oh that sounds pretty hot. Anywho, yeah, the new mustangs seem pretty formidable, they have nice numbers. On a slightly unrelated note, I also like the new Nissan Juke and 370z.

          Sounds like a good time.

I was doing some shopping the other day (had to buy more business clothes...) and had completely forgotten that the "Naughty Volvo" even was going on at the King of Prussia mall, where I was (one of the largest malls in the country). I drove past it driving out of the parking lot and was kicking myself for not remembering and giving myself time to test some of the new Volvos out. My S60 is so nice to drive, I'm sure the new ones are even more fun.

I have never owned a forgien car, always GM. So my dream car is the corvette of course, with the blower or turbo. The 370 doesn't look bad though, 350Z I think looks better but 370Z I think is quicker isn't it.

Supposedly the new v6 mustang ran a 13.7... IIRC that is stock ls1 territory, lol.

I would buy one if I had the cash, but I wouldnt go in debt for any car, lol.

13.7 is good for a v6 stand. id believe it, but its hard to believe! 13.7 is pretty slow for a stock ls1. maybe mine before I started modding (98, auto, everything stock but muffler).

Thats about what ls1's were initially rated at even though many were slightly quicker. Remember, they didn't want fbodies to step on Corvette toes.

Ls1's bone stock or close to it run high 13's and i've seen low 14's so yeah. ;)

Of course it doesnt take much to improve on that with mods, though.

ok? i've seen paper filter stock ls1s run a full second faster than that. it depends on a lot..

Re: Test drove the new V6 Stang

That's why I said stock LS1. The ones I drove: 99 TA WS6 with 18k on it bone stock (meaning paper filter, stock exhaust and wheels), 00 Formula with 56k, and Z28 with 87k.

But from those LS1 the Formula feels faster. In Calif. stock LS1 runs 13.8 to 14.2 on average. C5's are at 13.5. Cars here in Calif. are slower compare to other states.
