I know I read somewhere that they do not add certain additives to their oils which are supposedly required by the tests...

When I read a little more into it, I think I would be using there XLT? oils (I think it was) which are SAE certified...

Where? I have never seen this on their site, and I just looked again. Can you provide a link?

      Re: amsoil oil

I've heard radio programs where they have people call in (sort of like Car Talk). No matter what the problem, Amsoil was the recommended solution.

My car has poor acceleration - put in Amsoil.
I've got a bumpy ride - You need Amsoil.
My headlights are dim - Amsoil will fix that!

Amsoil apparently is better than Trans-X.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

I use all Royal Purple for the last 3 years, Good stuff. I had GM mechanics tell me it was all they used in the vehicles and race vehicles. So I started using it in everything and so far so good. Use 20W50 for oil which is great for the AZ heat for protection, only gets to about 60-70 during the day here for winter so after its warmed up it still drive great. Plus once I ever get the turbo on , it will be great for it. I might try a 10W40 once its on.

LOL, exactly, I personally like it , my Dad does to , after working 40 years for GM his mechanics always used it , but he won't use it in DD becuase he says its a waste, but if your racing and putting stress on the engine might as well run the good stuff for added protection. Once I get another DD i will use reg. oil since theirs no reason to put the good stuff in a car/truck thats not going to be abused. LOL For reg. oil I like Mobile Clean 5000.
