It's becoming fashionable now for kids to be stealing them and selling them at ebay. Last month my mom's honda insignia at the front bumper was stolen. A month before that my aunt's mercedes was stolen, and last year our neighbor's jag.

Ok, that comes and goes. That was also a problem when I was a teen in the 70's

Thats not a bad deal.We own one of these cars. They are great cars but I strongly recommend getting the v6.The four is very gutless for the size of the car and the fuel economy is very similiar to the 6.They actually make two V6 models a 3.1(GT) and 3.6(GXP) I haven't gotten to drive the GXP so I can't say anything much about them.

Thanks for the thought. I've driven an Ecotec 4 in a rental and thought it ran really well. That probably was smaller that this, i'm guessing.

Not to nitpick or anything but they come in 3.5(GT) and 3.9(GXP)

We've got a GT hardtop convertible and it goes pretty good, its a lot of torque for front wheel drive.

                    Re: Possible replacement car

It really depends on the car. I used to dd an Accord (we have an 04 and an 05) and it was really miserable to drive. I think that mostly had to do with the weight though. My Volvo is a FWD and it's a lot of fun to drive.

A Grand Prix widetrack GTP isn't disappointing at all!! In fact, I love that car.

it's also missing the windshield fluid squirters on the hood.

FWD is inherently slower due to the physics of driving. That particular car may be faster than yours though. With identical wheel horse power, traction, weight, gear/final drive ratios, and stall your car would be faster straight line. As far as cornering goes, FWD is inherently inferior, but f-body suspension is pretty crappy stock so it's not hard to beat it.
