So my engine is partially disassembled right now.
You may recall I was trying to dedide what to do with my aging car, especially given that I don't feel I have a lot of money to spend right now.

As I suspected, a few of the lifters were bad. The camshaft was also damaged (me driving with bad lifters for a long time probably contributed to that). One lobe was very beat up and another was damaged.
Anyway, I should get the car back on Wednesday morning.
I'm going to need to find a new daily driver; my Firebird simply is getting too old to be a full-time source of transportation.
I'm looking at a maybe an Impala or G6 with under 20K miles. I was looking at an Impala that might be a possibility. Some elderly flolks owned it until they passed away very recently. The only downside I see to it is that the man who has been driving it recently smoked in it. If I get it thoroughly cleaned / detailed, including that ozone stuff, would the smoke smell be gone? Or will it keep coming back?
As for the Firebird, I'm hoping to put it into retirement soon while it still runs welll (assuming the engine works well again) and hopefully save it for my boys to use and work on.
