Glad to hear shes back in order. But I have to ask; why the hell an Impala? I hate those damn things... Looks like every other car on the road. Your Bird does not. I understand retirement but... Why not go LS1 Bird or Camaro?
He posted up his reasons, better mileage, he has a couple kids to cart around, general life stuff. We all have phases.
My plan is to use the replacement car as my daily driver for the next six years. I want to use the Firebird as as a weekend car that my boys can drive occasionally when they get old enough.
I looking now for the perfect used, low mileage Impala or Malibooty.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

I'd consider the G6 and Saturn Aura. Both are good cars. G6s are a little more sportier, and Auras are more upscale/comfortable. They both basically are versions of the Malibu.
I like my G6... 2007 Base 3.5L vvt, 224 hp, weighs 3350. Still gets high 20s and 30mpg on highway with a 4spd, newer ones have 6psd autos. Cruise control, fogs, remote start, XM radio, etc.... I bought mine new put 46,000 miles on it, just hit the 3 year anniversary of it and only issue.... power window module, that is believed a drink got spilled on. Just made it so all windows would not work. I think its an $80 part, but was covered under warranty. (PS always go to caddy dealers for service they hook you up!)
Wife cracked my windshield on the highway with a rock, week later we were in the freezing weather and in the mountains, after some spirited driving crack expanded. So I got a new windshield.
Just a thought if it matters, 2007 is when they started the 5 yr/ 100k drivetrain warranties.
Let me know if you have any questions about G6s, even Auras and Malibus a little.
I'm loking at the G6 and the Aura also. I'm looking at 2007 and newer for Impalas and 2008 and forward for Malibu. The 2007 Malibu interior and exterior is not as nice, IMO. The front grill is different and the console / dashboard area is different also.

I’m new. I actually don’t own a Camaro or firebird. I do have a 2000 Camaro 3.8 fly by throttle and 4l60e. This is installed in a 1980 Triumph TR7...
