After 3 years of renting houses and moving constantly we are finally home owners and we are super excited because we are very tired of rental companies, leases and moving every 6 months to a year. We will be able to settle down for 2-4 years.
Specs:
Ranch style
Built in 2004
2136 sq ft
4 bed, 2 bath (plumbed for a 3rd bath)
90% finished basement
440 sq ft, 2 car garage
Fenced backyard
The basement is a full basement and has a bathroom that isnt finished, BUT its roughed in with plumbing and walls so all we have to do to finish it is put in a sink, toilet, shower and tile. We will definitely finish it ASAP. The only other things we will change (other than interior paint) is some landscaping in front because its pretty bland otherwise, dry wall in the garage and put a shed in the backyard.
After all the offers and counter offers we ended up paying their asking price, but they are paying for our closing costs which is sweet because we dont have to pay a dime out of pocket which can save for the things I listed above.
We did learn that houses are fuggin expensive out there (Cheyenne, WY) compared to other places we've lived. Most houses we looked at (3 bed, 2 bath, 1700ish sq ft) were any where from $185-$192,000. We snagged this one for $169K and its bigger than anything else we looked at so we are very happy with it.
We wont move in until sometime next month or maybe even after the the new year depending on how long it takes to close. We are trying to work a deal to where we can move in before the closing date, but thats not a guarantee. I dont have any other pics right now, but here is one from the listing:
