I test drove a 02 Z28 and its the same thing as my V6 except much faster. I don't see the big deal on the LS1. Id rather build up my 3.8 than waste money on V8 unless I was buying the LS1 Corvette.

because....if you notice all the fast 3.8s, those guys have dropped tons of money...just to get into the 13s/12s. And then you are really pushing the limits of the 3.8 block. As a ls1 can run 13s...even 12s pretty much stock. Im not bashing you, im just putting this point of view out there.
I would have loved to build up my 3.8, but the problems it was giving me (misfires/ burning oil, which seems very common even with low mileage ones) just wasnt worth my time, I work and go to school full time. So I sold my bird, and spent a couple extra K for a low mileage 00 z28....
I would but the car is not for me if it was I would tune it. And on another note the guy that had it never did routine maintenance it still had the original spark plugs from factory.

Well there's stock LS1's out there running 11's. It depends on the vehicle it rests in :)
I don't understand why people with LS1 Camaro's act like they have gods gift to the road. Most owners I know are douchebags and its like "you don't own a Ferrari or Lamborghini so shut up". It's not much different than the current car I own except it feels much faster. The suspension feels a little tighter on the V6 than the V8 but aside from it being a V8 its the same exact car as mine.

its really all opinion and how view things.
I don't see the benefit of buying a Z28 or T/A unless your gonna do some racing although I like the LT1 body style T/A chances are id never spend the money to buy one. It's just not it. Ill pay a lil extra money for an LT1 Vette. But never for an LS1 Z28 or T/A. Id love to get my hands on just the motor alone and buy a Factory Five GTM kitcar or any kitcar at that or even have one in a Corvette but never in an Fbody.
... Since when? My 94 TA has about 280, bone stock. Only 40k miles but still..
Com'on now. Your 94 TA puts down 280rwhp bone stock? When it is 275hp at the crank?
The '00 TA I witness at K&N Filter headquarter same place where they dyno new and up and coming cars in Riverside, Calif. on a Mustang Dyno put down 278 rwhp. And that TA is bone stock all the way to its paper filter and OEM exhaust.
I’m new. I actually don’t own a Camaro or firebird. I do have a 2000 Camaro 3.8 fly by throttle and 4l60e. This is installed in a 1980 Triumph TR7...
