The newest tactic I've seen with police speed traps I observed a couple weeks ago. Going down a long open 3-lane straightaway on I-70 a couple hours after sundown, first thing I saw was a string of 3 road flares leading up to something on the shoulder... As I got closer I could see it was a broken-down car (I expected a broken down semi). Just as I got right up on it I could see it wasn't a broken down car, but a black & brown police cruiser! Sucker would have totally fooled me had I been going too fast. I mean, I could see him from a ways off but you don't expect road flares to mark a speed trap!!

In retrospect, maybe it was a broken down police cruiser. :D

If they'd spend that much time and effort to catch real criminals...drug dealers, rapists, etc....now that would be great.

Real criminals don't generate the revenue for them that speeders do.

That's not un common here at all.. they usually have just like a normal trucks like 1500 silverado and you wouldnt know the difference... but yeah..


the other day they had a homeless looking guy who was actually a police officer and he was looking for people who were texting and driving ( its illegal here ) and if he saw you texting and driving he flips his sign around and it says pull over.

police down here by galveston and houston texas have been doing this for years now. mustang, camaro, f250, explorer, ive seen a corvette once but only during the lonestar bike ralley. any brand any style of car, they have it all here. maybe other states are starting to catch on to this now. im sure it wont be long before this is common everywhere.

We don't have a cool pickup truck like that here instead we have stupid cops that harrass you and make it obvious that they are gonna pull you over and even follow you because they need money due to the recent budget cuts.

You think the campers are bad in Call of duty our cops don't need cool cop cars, they camp in dark places and it works.

In Palm Beach I seen a early 90's Ford, jacked up w/ rims, huge tires, bumper with winch etc... No markings whatso ever.

In SC state troopers have unmarked pre 95' 4th gen Camaros (and they are red)...
