Sleeping with the manatees

So my sons are in Boy Scouts. My younger son just earned the "wilderness survival" merit badge.

One of the requirements was to improvise a natural shelter and spend a night in the shelter. Here is part of the lean-to he built. He said there were two manatees in the river next to him all night long. It seemd pretty interesting. Not too many people will do that.

Manatees are gentle gaints. They have a rescue center in San Diego that treats injured Manatees. People with their boats are always running into them.
