Starter crapped out last night and I had to drag the car with a tow rope home with a few buddies...go out to NAPA today to get a starter...$370!!!!!!! Seriously wtf...prices on autozone are like 170$...this is unreal the markup we have here... I just got bent over and fisted :(

Well Autozone sells garbage so... yea it's going to be cheap. NAPA is the most expensive out of the replacement car parts shops, but their products are the highest quality and closest to OEM from the dealer. I usually shop at O'Reilly which I consider 2nd best quality wise and pretty good price wise.
I do sometimes go for better parts (brake calipers for instance) in which case I generally prefer to try the local dealers since the prices are similar to NAPA. However sometimes NAPA does get my business since they seem to have more stuff in stock than my local (Houston) dealers. There are some items all the local dealers say they can't even order, for instance crank balancer pulley.sigpicComment
