From what I had seen on a 2008 duramax silverado, that bumper is actually more plastic with chrome coating than anything. The lady who owned the one I saw hit something and it didnt dent, just simply broke an entire corner off.

Doesn't surprise me. Seeing the new GMC and Caddys that used to come into the dealers had terribly thin paint and a ton of orange peel. And those were $40k+ cars and trucks. This is just another sign of cheap quality.

Yeah, check about warranty on that.

When I first bought my 98 Bird and with less than 3k on it and when I was changing the oil it surprised me how the crank pulley and rear axle cover started rusting. I was very disappointed.
