Well, I got the estimate to get it fixed, some $3800. I think instead of doing that, Im going to get the guy who hit me for $1900, and get the rest of the parts myself. Don't want anything new, and I can get it all fixed for under $2000 with the parts I have/want to get.

Also, I'm going to business hand you if you put $1200 into that $1200 Monte Carlo. Believe that.
Thats exactly where its going, which soon after winter, Im selling the car. Need to get rid of the Monte, but it has to run first. The Firebird will come in time. Its a complicated issue with the Monte, hence why I have to have it running and rolling before I can do anything with it.

I dont understand this wes, It wasnt your fault... Why bust your balls fixing the car for next to nothing and doing the work yourself, when you have the polish dude... that is responsible for the damage to pay for the $3,800 dollar claim on getting your car fixed.

I have a viable reason for not posting on here. Its temporary, but its enough to have to do this all the hard way.

Sorry to hear you were in a acident, got any pics of it to post, I like seeing what the professionals call $3800 worth of damage. Esp. the rear end of the car.

No, both cars I own are insured, full coverage as well. Thats just insanely stupid. Simple fact is, I will do the fix myself. I cannot go more than 12 hours without a car, and the Monte is not close to being fixed. Its due to the nature of my work, which in the winter, you have to take it as it comes. And because of it, I have to have a car, so there is no time for it to sit in a shop. I do not have a credit card, otherwise I would rent something, but not having one makes renting something impossible, even if the other guys insurance was to pay for the rental.
I just can't go without a car for any length of time.
The quote I got was inflated, due to the fact I asked for new parts. $3800 is a HIGH quote. The labor totaled $900, with the new parts being $2900 of that. I KNOW I can find a bumper, tail lights, "Firebird" panel, and probably a new hatch for WELL under $2900, probably for less than what the labor will cost. I talked to the guy that hit me, he was willing to get me $1800 cash, which is perfect. Fact remains, I hate dealing with insurance companies, and I avoid them like the plague, and I simply can not go any sustained amount of time without a car; the whole reason why I am driving the Firebird in the first place.
UPDATE: As dumb as it was to not get insurance involved, I think my faith in a persons word was restored today. The guy cut me a check for $2200 for the damages, which should be enough to get the Monte and some left over for the Firebird.
