What engine is better? LS1 or LT1? Reasons would be good too.

Re: Which engine
But the added expense of having a reliable ignition system puts you past LSx territory. I've seen 5.3's go for $300 complete.<a href=\"http://www.fullthrottlev6.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.fullthrottlev6.com</a><br /><a href=\"http://www.chitownracing.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.chitownracing.com</a>

Re: Which engine
Personally I like the Lt1 better, but maybe thats just because I'm weird. That being said the Ls1 has some very good things going for it, one its lighter (all aluminum), much better ignition system, boatloads of aftermarket support, and is completely over rated. I myself would go with a truck Lsx based engine if I were to do a swap, its alot cheaper that buying a ls1 and makes the same power. Also with most of them having an iron block they are stronger as well.
Now with Lt1s you get a bunch of good things too, the low end torque is great, they sound good, and with how many people hate them it has made them very cheap. The biggest issue with them is optispark (the distributor). Opticrap has a very large problem with moisture, basically any moisture that gets too them kills them. The nicest thing about the Lt1 is the low cost, all in all it cost us about 1500 to do a Lt1 swap on the other camaro vs 3k for a Ls1 swap.
