I have seen the people who are useless from it, and playing it as long as I have, you get to a point where you can do only one of three things...

1. Raid
2. Farm
3. Play the auction house

When you're first starting out, its a grind to level. The cap was 60, and since the latest expansion, its now 85. It REALLY depends on who you play this game with that will dictate how involved you are in it. I play with a retired E-7 in the US Army, a pipefitter from NY, a chemical engineer in OK, a bartender in NYC, a business owner from Missouri, and IT engineers from both Canada and the Bay area. These people have BUSY lives, but still have time to hop on the game after everything else is done in their life. And I have played with

A gynecologist
A dentist
A tax lawyer
Plenty of stay at home wives
and even some government officials

I DON'T play with kids. They tend to ruin the game with their BS. When you get down to it, its really not that complicated of a game, but you are putting in some time before you max out everything. Ive played now for over 4 years, generally with the same group of people. Thats the key of not getting sucked into it and sitting on a comp for 14 hours a day, find a group of people to play with that do it in moderation.

Although I have never personally played WoW... I don't knock people who do. I'm sure if I had the time and didn't have kids and a wife I would play... I believe that is a game that will consume you if you let it though. I hear Rift is going to be a wow killer...

Ive heard that rumor about several games over the years, and WoW's simplicity is what keeps it on top. If Blizzard kept the game the same way it was in vanilla, it would have been dead long time ago. But they made everything easy and accessible to everyone, which is why its lasted so long as the top MMORGP.

But they made everything easy and accessible to everyone, which is why its lasted so long as the top MMORGP.

I was always way over my head into blizzard games.. excluding lost vikings haha..

but like starcraft and diablo were amazing games due to how simple they are.. diablo two in particular, where its almost no thought process what so ever, all your brain does is tell your finger to click lol. but i played all the warcrafts.. more so warcraft 3 and for some skipped WoW all together and went to SC2

No, Arthas was part of WOTLK, in which towards the end of a two year expansion/patch group, everyone got to kill Arthas as he was the Lich King. But thats where it all ended. So now its all about Deathwing or some such ****. I don't pay attention to the story lines much, but there are a ton of cut scenes in the game now, so it kinda gets burned into your head.

wow did the story ever change from frozen throne.. they will be making a warcraft 4 eventually. wonder where they will pick up from.

IDK exactly, but I think WoW picks up from Warcraft III, so the timeline is that Wrath of the Lich King is 5 years after Warcraft III (which I actually think it was 5 years). There won't be a Warcraft IV, because thats basically what WoW is.

it might be a while before HL 3 ever comes out. i was kind of pissed with 2 when it came out on the old xbox, seemed like every 30 seconds the goddamn thing had to load then next part of the game. totally ruined for me and i never finished it. i played the **** out of the first one though.

Yeah, there hasnt even been so much as even a mention of it. And with the hype behind Portal 2 release and then it being delayed; I doubt Valve is much worried about HLE3. And even if they were, its a long time away.

I first played it on the box and then PC. IMO, PC is the only way to play it. Although I really dont remember it loading too often. You should give it another chance if you can, so much better than the first.
