    Re: Money question?

I think we all need to stop taking things so personally. Some couples are very traditional and want to have the mom stay at home, etc... Some have two working parents, which is what I'm used to and what I expect. Some want to do everything for their kids while others want to provide their kids the tools they need to help themselves. Either way we all want the same thing. We all care about our future, we want to live the best possible life and want to love/care for any children we have or want to have.

We can have a discussion on what we think is best. Just like we were discussing our money earlier. However we should stop taking it personally and attacking each other.

Its a pretentious attitude I have never tolerated even from my friends. And alot of them were like that after their first kids, but after the second, third, and in some cases, their 4th kids, they knew better. I have a nephew, I see whats involved, most of my closest friends have 3+ kids, their lives have not changed, only readjusted. They didn't have to make major sacrifices in their careers or lives for children, yet these children are doing just fine. After their newborns, kids generally can usually do for themselves pretty well. Once these kids reach a certain age, you don't have to change diapers, you don't have to clean up after them (or shouldn't), you don't have to sit them in a chair and spoon feed them. They'll know when they're hungry, they'll know when they have to ****, they'll know when they're tired.

Im not telling you that you HAVE to do it my way, Im telling you that your way is dumb, and that Ive figured out a way to have the best of both worlds while compromising the extremes on both sides. There is a difference.
This reallllllly bothers you to the bone doesnt it, Wes? I have no idea why you get this way, but you seem pretty pissy that people arent agreeing with your every idea on how to raise children.

Why is it so hard to just understand that everyone is different and not everyone out there cares about what you have to say or think? I mean, come on! LOL

Does it bother me? **** yeah it does, because this is an argument that has been hitting home hard for a couple months now. But you have to understand my thought process. If Im going to keep the GF from sitting around and quitting a VERY rewarding career, I have to change the way she thinks, and in order to do that, I have to change how EVERYONE thinks.

Like I said, you're going to have your family the way you want it, regardless of what I say, but Im going to make every effort to change someones point of view, because If I can change yours, I can change hers.

wow you really opened my eyes wes. that is what i'm going to do tonight. gonna go home and get knocked up TONIGHT so in 10 month i can get my plan started. stay home, mooch off my hubby, do nothing, let the tv raise my kids while i go do my own thing in the other room and nap as much as i want.

but tell me wes, it is a genius plan. i don't have to deal with someoneS bs at work anymore. i don't have to get up ever morning, get in a car and go to work. cause i get to stay home and do NOTHING! woot woot for me. and i get to keep my camaro. EAT IT WES.

for me it was 16 weeks of barfing 3 times a day and ill 24/7 yet some how i sucked it up and never called out a single day.

as for wes...i just hope that in life he is happy, if that means a wife and kids...good for him. but to be honest....wes having a kid means that there will be another wes ahole in this world...that really kinda sucks. you would need a very special woman to counteract anything wes can produce, or the best part of that spawn would be the part that ran down her a$s 10 months prior

                      Re: Money question?

I find it hilarious and more than just coincidence that the people that are getting pissed off the most are the ones with ONE kid, under the age of 4. And I know why it is, its because its a new experience to you, and experience you wouldn't trade for anything in the world....but it is NEW. You're not used to having 2 or 3 kids running around screaming their heads off, throwing toys at each other, and making a mess of everything everyday. And its easy to say that your time at home watching the kid is good, because its ONE kid. Its not like you're playing a guessing game as to which kid broke what thing. I don't think ANY of you guys have gotten to the point of insanity with your kid, because Im SURE they're "good kids".

Its a life changing experience because you MADE it a life changing experience. Creatures of this planet have had offspring since the beginning of time, its not new.

                      I quote George Carlin...

"...And lets not forget the three most puke inducing words that man has yet thought of "BABY ON BOARD". I don't know what valueless soulless yuppie c***sucker thought of that idea...no idea who....baby on board....who gives a F***? I certainly don't. You know what these morons are actually telling us don't you? I know you've figured this out, they're actually saying to us "we know you're a ****ty driver most of the time, but because our child is nearby we expect you to straighten up for a little while." F*** these people, I run them into a god damn utility pole....roll that car over, bounce that kid around a little bit, let them grow up with a sense of reality for Christ sake. Life doesn't change because you post a sign....Im supposed to alter my driving habits because some woman forgot to put her diaphram in, isn't that really nice? Isn't that a real treat for me?....Baby on Board, Child in Car...Don't tell me your troubles lady. Why don't you put up an honest sign "A**HOLE AT THE WHEEL!!!"

And as I say, if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, its probably not a ****ing horse.....how many of you have a "baby on board" sign in your car?

EDIT: Watch this, because this is what new parents in today's society have become....And this is you people to a T.

Call the roflcopter! Are you being serious or just messing with us?

Do you really think that some faceless, random guy on a car forum who doesnt even have kids of his own is actually going to change how people raise their kids?! Yeah, I highly doubt it LOL.

Here's the thing Wes, you think the ways other than your own are dumb, but hear this. I think having an Indy tattoo from shoulder to shoulder is dumb (more like tacky). I think moving in with your girlfriends parents is dumb. I think working a job that employs you only 5 months a year is dumb. I think having one parent work days and the other work nights/weekends is dumb. Not changing your current lifestyle because you have kids is dumb. Thinking that women aren't equals because they stay at home for the first few years is dumb. I could go on and on but it's not necessary :p

See the point? Do you really care that I think all that is dumb? Probably not (nor should you care) and guess what, nobody on here cares that you think their techniques on raising children are dumb or any other idea that you might have on life.

Pick your arguments wisely. This is a car forum. If people here want your opinion on what color to paint their car, which suspension mods are good, techniques on pulling a motor then give your opinion, but to be argumentative the way your are and having a pissy party about how to raise children on a car forum is retarded.

Here is the scary thing for you, Wes. You find it necessary to change the minds of the people of this forum so that you will be able to change the mind of your GF. Reality check, homey...nobody seems to have changed their mind. You might want to reconsider marriage/kids with this chick because according to your logic you need to change our minds first and your are pretty far from it ;)

Here is the bottom line and its been said several times in this thread. Everyone is different and has different ways of doing things. For some reason you can't understand that and move on. You have this odd need to always have the last word and convince everyone that what you think is the best when in reality nobody seems to give a $hit. So go on and keep it up because this is pretty damn entertaining to say the least

Did I ever say I was going to change your mind overnight? Are you that naive? And whatever you think that I do that is dumb depends on what it is. The tattoo is not for you to understand, those from Speedway DO understand it, and understand why I got it. But you don't, hence you think its dumb. But on the other hand, some of the stuff I do that may be dumb to you, you do understand, just like I understand why you want your wife/GF/whatever to stay at home. Doesn't make it any less stupid. The difference between my opinion and yours is that you have used sarcasm and stubborness to make a point, while I on the other hand have given viable positive reasons for mine.

                            Pick your arguments wisely.
ROFL. Im not one of the noobs you get away with every once in a while ruffling feathers. Im not an idiot, and have lived a life of challenge and harsh reality since day 1. Sell your BS to someone else, I wasn't born yesterday. I wouldn't have said anything if I didn't know what the f*** was going on with the convo. I don't need to respond to everything, hence why I have such a low post count. If I know what Im talking about, then Im going to say something. You think I don't know because I don't have kids, and its a dumbass assumption.

Whats more retarded, me being argumentative, or you responding to a thread about an opinion you obviously don't care about? If it didn't bother you that much, you wouldn't have posted. Only makes sense doesn't it?

Its obvious you give a ****....because you wouldn't have spent the 5 minutes to type all that crap out, would you? Don't sit there and say you don't care if you're going to keep responding.....

Naive. I don't have to prove my point overnight, I am a patient individual. If it takes a couple days, a week, a year, or a decade, then so be it. But Im also not outside the realm of compromise either, which is why my relationship works so well.

Honestly, I don't care about your views on life, Wes. I really dont. My wife and I grew up in great families that taught us strong morals and values so we definitely don't need some dude on the internet to help us raise our kids LOL. You are an individual person with individual ideas, values, morals and techniques and I respect that even though I think you are misguided. I respect it so much that I will deploy to a war torn country, put my life in jeopardy, away from my family for months at time to fight and protect your right to freedom and individuality. I have another 9+ years of commitment to that. ;)

The fact that you can't just let things be and let people live their lives how they see fit and realize that people won't always agree with you is just f'ing hilarious haha. I think things about you are dumb because you say that "I don't understand them". Maybe, JUST MAYBE, people on here do things that you feel are dumb because you don't understand them and they don't have an obsession to explain themselves and make you understand. Weird to think about huh?

What bothers me is your general demeanor and overall @sshole of a personality toward other people on this board. Its unwarranted and not necessary. :)
