True but they are still about 90,000 to 100,000 units short of what Pontiac did the year before they got axed.
That is just a numbers game. GM axed Pontiac knowing that potential buyers would probably choose another GM product like Chevy, Buick or even Cadillac. It's not like those people evaporated or completely defected to other brands.
i love older buicks, especially a supercharged park avenue (give that to me as a daily driver any day and call it done) comfort, power, and christ you can literally sleep in the car because it rides so smoothe

they should stop importing just kias and hyundais and make all those people buy american and then we would all get mcdonalds
I do agree with you partially, i love american cars. But have you driven a new Kia or Hyundai lately? Wow! drive a new Sonata or Sorento, or even better a Genesis and you will be impressed. My hat is off to both Korean car companies, I continue to be impressed.

while the interior fit and finish is slightly better on imports, comparing a caddy to an equally priced fully loaded hyundai azera - the hyundai sucks. sure it might have more bells and whistles for the same money but they all lack power, have weak feeling trannies and just dont have the WOW factor that a slick looking (CTS?) has

Most of the "Real Pontiac Guy's" I talked with that have the older 60-70's GTO's Firebirds and such say they will never buy a new GM product again.
One of my friends (real hardcore Pontiac fan) recently bought a new Charger as his DD.
Supposedly the G8 is for sure coming back out badged as a Chevy. I heard in a magazine that Caprice wont be it either... There exclusive to some police departments but thats all.
It'll be interesting to see what the hell they call it. Lol.

Oh geez one of those guys? "nothing touches the old american muscle" RAWR!
So can the G8 be modded to?
did I or did I not just show you a 700 hp G8 that drove 3,000 miles round trip with full AC, comfort, and safety of a modern car? That would tear any oldschool car up around a road track, I admit might be slightly behind in the 1/4 mile, then some purpose built drag race car you are going to dig up.
but the g8 will still be 100 times safer, more comfortable, get a crapload better gas mileage.
Newsflash.... old american muscle is cool, but doesn't mean its faster then modern technology.

I hear you.
I love the late model stuff and having your cake and eating it too.
