As you guys know I bought a Camaro for $2k... It was a good car but clearcoat was peeeling bad on the nose...
Today I attempted my first shot of automotive painting... yes I have done some easy stuff like some black wheels, and flat black under the t-tops on a t-top conversion, a replacement black mirror, etc...
The paint was in several different shades, since god knows how long it had been peeling and everytime I washed the car it peeled a little more. So it was various UV exposure.
I got a large amount of clearcoat off, then sanded down a little bit with 600 grit, then went to 1,000 grit, until the paint kind of matched, I can tell in one spot I went slightly too deep, but not bad.
I then re-cleared it just now. Car looks 1,000 times better. I can't wait to really clean it up later.
