I cant seem to get onto LS1tech with this computer, only on my laptop...when I get onto the site I get this message "Internet explorer cannot open the internet site www.ls1tech.com operation aborted"
it's frustrating the hell out of me...how can I fix this?
There is not much of a learning curve to switching over to Firefox or even Chrome. I've been able to smoothly and easily convert technologically challenged 50+ year olds to Firefox from IE at work with almost no questions, and they tend to prefer it after a week or two of use. For some reason I haven't had the same luck with Chrome, although I prefer it myself. But I'd give Firefox a try and see if you like it. It's pretty much the same interface as IE, and will import your favorites and such on install automatically from IE.
This may or may not solve your problem, though. I'd start by clearing your cookies and if that doesn't work, I'd try another browser. If it still doesn't work, you might try downloading OpenDNS, or contacting your ISP.
Tools>Internet Options>General Tab. Under Browsing history, click "Delete..." and check the boxes next to Cookies and Temporary Internet Files. It's up to you if you want to check the other boxes. Click OK and OK.
^^ clear out your cookies, cache, etc and try again. if using IE works on one computer but not another try matching the settings from the IE that works and see whats different.
I agree with everyone who says to ditch IE. IE 9 will be alright, at least better than firefox. But chrome is going to have the fastest javascript engine, crankshaft = faster browsing, especially on forums, ehh, yeah like that don't ya. Opera and IE 9 will be competitive with chrome though, so that is all personal preference, but anytime you get spyware or viruses that attack browsers, IE will be their primary target. Causing speed bumps like this.
I would start by clearing the cache/cookies. tools>internet options>browsing history>delete>(select all that apply). Everyone else is right, there are some superior browsers (though IE9 looks promising). I use chrome, its the cleanest and seems to be the fastest for me as well.
