93- 97 firebird formulas what do you think about them?
I use to bash on the LT1's even when I 1st purchased my 95.. I was wanting to swap in a LS1. I took it to the track and was hoping for a 13.9 pass and ran a 13.6 on a crappy 60'.. That one time at the track has changed my opinion of the LT1's. I love the way the car sounds and how the car just drives. I had to own a LT1 to appreciate it.
I have 1 question. What is the difference between the LT1 f-bodies and the LT1 vettes power wise? I have met a couple of C4 vette owners that say that there vettes stock run low 13's and even met one last night with a 94 that has a catback and went 12.9@107 with the catback being the only mod.. My 95 went 101 with a stall and airfoil. Of course his vette was a 6 speed
if i remember right the vettes were rated at 300 even due to a slightly larger cam, so i can see them doing stock ls1 times since their a good bit lighter than fbodies.
current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

F-body Lt1s had aluminum heads as well. As far as the Y-body ones, I know they have 4 bolt mains, and I think your right on the cam being a bit bigger.
the only lt1 that didnt have aluminum heads were the ones in the impalas, which were iron and oddly enough actually flow a **** load better than the aluminum ones until they get heat soaked, then they flow like crap. vette lt1 cams were bigger for sure, i cant remember the specs off the top of my head but its not a HUGE difference but its enough to put some room between them and the fbody in terms of power.
