Nice truck but I'd leave them plugs in or trade it for a GMC truck quickly. :)

'99-03 Ford's Triton engines were infamously known to SPIT out plugs, it's all over Google and YouTube. Ford tapped 3 or 4 threads in their cylinder head splark plug ports. Unbelievable.

But this is a 2004. Specifically, owners of model year 2004-2008 F-150s with certain 3-valve engines have repeatedly experienced serious problems while attempting to remove or replace the spark plugs in these vehicles, resulting in considerably higher repair and maintenance costs (typically anywhere from several hundred dollars to $3,000) all due to carbon deposits in the newly redesigned 8 thread fix.

You can see the frustration of Ford's 5.4L Triton spark plug customer issues here: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/autom...ord_spark.html

Ive heard this from not only my brother, but from several sources. As much as I have wrenched on cars my life, with a problem like this being this big of a concern, especially if you screw it up and break on off in the head, I've already planned on getting the plugs changed at the dealer. Let them screw it up, and when they do, I don't have to pay for it. Its got almost 164,000 on it now, Id say around the 175,000 mile mark, I'll probably take it in to have that done.

Other than the spark plug issue, not really much else wrong with these things. Ive driven it around for about two weeks now, had it up to Milwaukee to visit friends, and it seats 4 pretty comfortably. And with the locking tonneau cover, I can keep the tools and such in the truck bed, instead of the cab. But the spark plug issue I have heard about even before this thread....
