Just went 428 miles on a tank of gas. 28.7 mpg. The best I've gotten since I've had the car.

not too shabby. what gears are you currently? i've got 3.23's on a t5 and similar (a few more) mods and can usually net right at 30 on the highway. if you're already running those 3.73's i'm pretty impressed with those numbers.

during a 2000 mile drive last summer I averaged about 32mpg, it was awesome. Now after a year of stop and go I'm averaging around 18 :(

In my 3.8 A4 3.42 rear end, I get 20 with mixed driving, that's going about 60MPH or so constantly.

I averaged 28+ driving back and forth on the highway on vacation a few weeks ago. With mixed driving between highway and city and with a heavy foot, I average 22-24 mpg's.

how could you not get better than 20 on the hwy in top gear at low revs?

well first off, both my cars were boosted and with much larger injectors, second of all i drove it hard almost all the time. no point in pussy footing the car. if i wanted to do that id stick to driving my honda :)

My old '96 got a best of 430 on a tank all highway miles with a 3.08 rear and just full exhaust for mods. Not so much after the 4.10 install, lol.

Best I got was 27mpg averaging 80mph when I had 3.08s. Haven't really taken many highway only trips. Best I've gotten since switching to 3.42s was 25mpg mostly highway with the AC. Bur same story. Car doesn't see a lot of highway use.

It was city/highway driving, and I've still got the 3.23s in. I'm too poor to put in the 3.73s right now. I recently swapped out my egr for the one that came on my l26 and that helped a little, brought me up to 25 mpg. Only thing I've done to the car since then was remove a T in my heater hose so id stop losing coolant, and threw in some cooling system cleaner. The coolant was still green, but had some nasty thick brown stuff in it.
