Don't quote me on this, but I have a buddy with a 944 porsche and I think he said the body was sold to porsche by audi because it didn't sell to well as an audi. Like I said don't quote me on it though.

I always liked the look of them.... And they are very affordable. But they are not cheap easy to maintain. I believe they have a similar to the c5 and c6 drivetrain setup. Because I would love to have one and do a ls1 6speed conversion.

Nope, def. not easy to maintain. But thats ok with me :)
Lots of people have done an ls1 swap, but not this one. I am happy with the 4 cyl turbo!
I couldnt tell you the name of it cause it eludes me but its in that cars era and was about a rich kid that some killer's after him and he found a body in the trunk/hood(?) of a silver porsche exactly like yours. Like a mystery/comedy movie I think?
