you hand them a 20 for 10 bucks worth of food. they give you a fake 10 so you have to come back and spend it there.
They really dont care if you come back there with the fake 10 or not. What happens is the girl slips fake bills into her cash drawer and puts the real money in her purse. she just made $10 minus the cost of the counterfit bill. Im not saying this is what they are doing, but it is the way a lot of people pass fake bills.
As stated knowingly passing fake money will get you a new boyfriend named Bubba. As far as I know once you accept the fake currency it is your problem, the store doesn't have to do a thing.
Fake money is a serious deal.when I worked at movie thaetres we had a middle school kid try to pay with a photocopies $20 it was bad. We had an off duty sheriff so Ilet him know so h could go scare the kid. By law he had to hold the kid and call the secret service.
Where it gets interesting is they ask for I'd all he had was an SS card. They ran it and found it was fake and it was looking like ue was illegal. Not sure what happened from there. There are a ton of fake ways to fake bills.
My wife used to work in a bank vault counting deposits. It's surprising how often counterfeits turned up.
If you were embarrassed about anything, it should be your spelling. I understand not everyone has the best grammar / spelling on the internet but my god... I got a headache from reading that. :rant:

That's why I didn't go to the bank. Because I know they would confiscate it and I'd be sh** out of luck. I thought I'd go to Jamba Juice and try to get them to exchange it.

i would go to the police, secret service, whoever, and ask for an investigation since it seems to happen a lot with them. maybe call a local new station and have them interview the owner about it. if they are smart they will stop to avoid the bad press.
Actually they now have $14.25 out from my twenty. I have a buddy that's a cop and he said you're out of luck. I'm just going to report them to the BBB.

Well counterfeiters today are making smaller bills so that they get check like the 20's, 50's, and 100's do.
