I know my father in law up to about 3 years ago paid for AOL, because he thought he had to, to keep his email.

As a guy who works in IT, you'll be surprised how many times I hear "No, I have to have it to get online!"

I can explain till I'm blue in the face and they wont budge. Even coming from a guy who has credentials, cant explain them out of stupidity.

I still use my AOL and use yahoo. And no, I don't pay for mine.

AIM still works. I still use it occasionally to talk to a few friends. Although FB chat, Gchat, and texting are still the primary ways of communication.
