My 89 Bird has 225K on it and it still has the original stock engine and tranny.
I met another guy not too long ago who has a 300k on his 96 Camaro and still the original engine and tranny. No work done on it whatsoever. It's amazing how far these work engines can go.

Wow, that's impressive. He's averaging over 54k a year. I've been starting to worry lately that I'm killing my Camaro prematurely - I have been putting about 25k a year for the 4 years I've had it, and it just passed 160k a few weeks ago. Maybe I have a few more years before I have to start looking...
Not sure I could make 600k though - there's no way I'll ever be able to drive it like a old man (even if I am one ;))

Re: V6 Camaro Pulls 600,000 :O
"While Burkley can’t promise that every Camaro — or any car for that matter — will reach more than half a million miles, he says that the main thing people can do to prolong their vehicle’s life is regular maintenance, including oil changes and brake pads at the manufacturer’s specified intervals. Additionally, he recommends not driving aggressively. By not racing his Camaro, he’s averaged 85,000 miles on every set of tires, and is now on his seventh complete set."

Cool! Where the heck is he driving that he is racking up that many miles?
If he drives for four hours a day at an average of 60 MPH and does that for 250 days a year (ie, Mon-Fri, every week with two weeks off for vacation per year), for 10 years, then he'd be at 600,000 miles in ten years.I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

I don't know how he gets 85K per tire - It just is pyhsically a lot of tire-pavement contact in 85,000 miles.I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
