The people I'm talking about hate the newer pontiac's cause they got chevy engines in them instead of being a pure pontiac. Which is ridiculous.
Shouldnt be a bunch of different types of engines anyways.
They're not Chevy or Pontiac engines, they're GM engines. Back then the different divisions made their own, and eventually GM woke up and realized that it was extremely cost prohibitive to do so.

Yeah, but the "corporate" engines have been based off the SBC and hated by many because of that. You have no idea how bad some guys are when it comes to this. Irrational doesn't even begin to scratch the surface.

Thats my opinion but they get all butt hurt cause GM did away with everything but sbc's then decided to stick them in all the performance cars after '81.
Shoulda been doing it from day one and just use big blocks or small blocks in all cars and be about the same for all makes.

Mention the word using a "corporate" engine in a car like my '70 Lemans and they'll wanna kill you for it, lol. Even if its not called a chevy if its a small block or big block anything besides Pontiac it be best not to even tellem whats under the hood, lol.
Yeah go with an expensive and not so plentiful pontiac engine instead of using an easy to build and huge aftermarket "corporate" engine just cause its a pure pontiac car.
