I love Chevy, always a soft spot for them in my heart and yes that's my 2002 SLP SS I took out for a ride to row the six speed gearbox.

I know it's a hefty pricetag and yes the kit slaps $15,000 on it but it's might be my first and last truck I'll ever own, who knows.

Diesel trucks, I'm a complete newbie at both the power and mechanical aspects. Why do you say that particular Cummings engine lasts so long?

                Heineken beers forever...
Guess this is why most dealer's favorite saying is "There is an *** for every seat".

Why would you OVER pay? That doesn't make any sort of sense. You don't get some sort of prize or win an award for being a victim. Get the most for your buck. You could get a damned near new Escalade for that kinda dough. I know you can get a brand new Escalade for $57k. The resale value of a 1500 with tacky crap is dismal. You'd be much better served to buy a stocker and put whatever you want on it, and save TONS of money.

Sorry red and black, but a modded ls car vs a stock cummins with a flash tune for performance could have some trouble. My buddies single cab 2500 cummins has a few mods, nothing crazy, and a flash tube and its sitting at like 600 hp and 1000 torque. It would smoke my heavily modded ss I think.

Think it would smoke my bolt on LS1?

I have a bolt on ls1 as well. Not saying it would lose to a big truck but those diesel trucks have some serious potential for what they are. My ls1 is about 450 horsepower n/a. It is mostly a friendly conversation in argument that diesel trucks aren't hick or slow necessarily that's all.
