Re: My new car domain started

with the amount of money into this "said" build, you would think you would know just a little bit more about the car than what you claim...just a little bit...

and if this shop knows soo much about builds, why would they build your motor to 10:1 CR, and then decide lets put a charger on?

and where the hell did all these strokers come from?? this is not a mod like a cam, you dont just slap it in and go...plus they're damn near 4grand...and you hardly have the supporting mods for it...doesnt make sense....

Mine was 5k to do and o wasn't planning on charging it till about 2 months after I got it done. I can still take it up to about 10lbs yet. I talked to a guy who has a 8sec f-body actually has the fastest v6 and he has 1 big turbo but did have a twin just for a little more info lol.

Also with all do respect I was in iraq when I had the car sent to the shop and basically told them to do what they could all motor and even turned down a 305 stroker. Not sure if I regret that but I always like to have something different.

This does nothing but throw up red flags in my mind and you couldnt have expected any of us to react to this any other way. Didn't you know, its not nice to keep secrets, lol.
Anyway like Mogobs siad your welcome to spend your money as you like. But for 5 grand I better have a printed sheet with all the information on my build in my hand.

Re: My new car domain started

OP, you gotta know everyone that is anyone around here knows what the hell is going on. I myself have been building engines for myself and other people for years, (not 3.8's, but air cooled vw) and the main thing people want when they get a far from stock engine, is a build sheet. I don't put down tricks and tips, just the basics; piston size, rod length, crank size, bearing sizes, cam lift/duration/LSA, combustion chamber cc, port cc, rocker ratio. They don't need to know what I do to what part to make more power, that's my lil ace in the hole, although if you took it apart and knew where to look then you might see what I did. My point here is you cant come around here and feed BS to people who know what the hell they are talking about...just doesn't work that way.

If you just put more money than your car is worth into an engine you better hope you know what's in it.

There is NO WAY you have what you say you have in that car for 5,000$ with labour.

The machine work required to put a stroker in, the cost of high compression pistons is damn near 1000$ by the time you get rods and everything needed...the cost of having the bottom end balanced, spec'd, blue printed, the cost of a cam and all related hardware needed to run it, buddy, your over 5,0000$ in parts never mind labour costs...it doesnt make sense....I know this because I just finished looking into pistons, AND a stroker kit when I blew my motor and replaced it.

Also he has all of the equipment required so that makes it cheaper for him not counting how much that equiment cost which is actually crazy. Several million.
