    Re: dodge neons

Could just total it and get insurance $$. At least you'd get what its worth, right? (just dont be in the car when it gets totaled lol)

Sounds like a beater to me. Enjoy it while it's reliable. Maybe even take it to a day at autocross. You might be surprised by it.

pfft, I wish in that car...3 speed auto, and I swear it shifts out of first at like 3000rpm

As dirty and gross as the engine bay is, I ran Amsoils version of the seafoam through the motor, and an oil flush as well...I could barely get the car to smoke.

Put a 3.8 in it...you know...since its a 'common swap' lol j/k but you could put a 3.8 out of your car in it then get an lsx buahahahahaha
man a 3.8 in here would be lethal lol...car only weighs like 1800lbs

Those cars are junk and a pain in the *** to work on.
Unless you're changing a headlight, they're actually pretty easy to work on...I estimate I could probably have the entire motor in pieces in a few hours if I had to... Plus I've already fixed a number of things on this one....full tune up, gas tank filler tube (when I bought it I had to crawl under the car at the gas station, pull the neck up, grab the gas nozzle and filler up....made for some interesting stares ) thats fixed now lol...

Yes its slow as sh!t but why the fucck do you need a race car for a winter beater?
I don't, but its nice to be able to get onto the highway comfortably...not hoping someones gunna let you in because you can't hit the speed coming off the onramp...

Push it off a cliff,it will be fast for a few seconds

        Have you tried stickers Mike?

        Not to hi-jack but......

The TA went 12.88 at 108.49 last weekend
lol...you know how many guys have been begging me to do this??...it's a sin, cars in great shape.

And that's good to hear about the TA...I decided I'm not going this year; actually I'm trying to save up for a stage 2 tranny this winter...I don't think the trans I have is capable of holding the power...I think that's why she was over reving the car...the tranny as it is now is good and doesn't slip so I dont want to risk tanking it while its still worth something and can do good for someone, or doing damage to the motor either....

          I was just kidding Mike.

Thats a good idea for the tranny as you always seem to be breaking the weakest link.

I know lol....and ya, mine as well sell it to someone who can get use of it and not risk doing damage I figure.

Still debating on seeing if I can get her on the rollers before I switch entirely over to the neon...

I know!!...I still don't know how to get it...I pried the light out and over with it in as far as I could and managed to get my hand in there and get the bulb out

Im not gunna lie...I considered cutting it off, but couldnt get my dremel in there either lol...

you would think that something that needs regular maintenance would be well designed so that it was easily accessible...stupid dodge...

Because they are generally cheaper to repair. Stripper econoboxes don't have frivolity like air ride suspensions and on board coffee makers. Parts for luxury cars tend to be much higher as well.

because the ****boxes have no power to break anything...I constantly drive around with my foot to the floor, and it literally doesn't go anywhere...you should see how ecstatic I get if I even manage to get a chirp of the tires in the rain, because that happens once in a blue moon and for maybe 1-2 tire rotations lol.

so if these things have no power to go anywhere, you really can't beat the sh*t out of them...so the ones beat to **** were just neglected...

I disagree...my coilpack for the neon cost me about $300

also, oddly enough the 95 neon costs me more in insurance than the 96 camaro...go figure...

One, you can't lay in them. They can't fit a 6' ladder in them without cutting a hole in the steel wall that separates the cab from the cargo area.

Two, if you roll up in a Transit on a date, you're not getting laid. These things are natural cockblocks.
