What kind of Oil and oil filter brand is everybody here using?
Re: What kind of Oil and oil filter brand is everybody here using?
I purchased a 2001 Pontiac Firebird V6 which has 98,000 miles and will change oil since I don't know when it was last changed. The oil center I use has Penzoil as their product. I do not believe the prior owner used any HM oil and it does not appear to be burning oil although I do smell and oily smell when I first start up the engine.
My question is, should I just use regular Penzoil or switch over to their HM oil? Also, being in Louisiana where it is getting hot, what oil should I use, 5W30 maybe?
Thanks for any assistance!
