FNG, Just bought my 7th 'Bird

Hey guys,

Found ya through Performance Years & love this site, though it was no small challenge to get registered.

Just picked up a mint, low mileage 4th Gen bird w/ the 3.4 as I drive a lot & can't stand fwd 4 bangers. It is a really clean car & can't wait for the spring thaw to get to it.

I have had mostly 1st Gen cars & have been in POCI for longer than I care to admit....Most all my friends are car people.

Some exhaust & tuning work will be first & I was surprised to see it has cast iron heads, so that may change too? Can't believe it still has a flat tappet cam. Guess I gotta watch my oil choices.

Anyhow, time to order a car cover & some new Bilsteins.

Do you have pics?

What kind of mileage does it have? Finding a 3.4 in good condition is a rare thing. I've seen 34blackv6's 94 Camaro and that was the best looking 3.4 I've ever seen.

Welcome,the later minivans used a 3.5L version of this engine and I think they used aluminum heads.

Fuel mileage @ this point is unknown 'cause it is in storage until spring.
& no incriminating photos at this time.
Also it looks like a piston swap is necessary for the aluminum heads so
that is unlikely to happen.
Guess we'll see.

PS: 34blacks car is a Camaro & simply can't be as good looking as a Pontiac :spank:

3.4l head swap, do some research, if you are handy and can do the work on your own, it will be worth it. uses some parts from both the 3500 alum engine and the 3400 alum engine. I don't think you have to swap pistons, as long as you use the correct gaskets and can tune.
