Went to a Seminar this Friday and this guy talked about slow contraction with weights being more productive and safer than normal lifting.
Anyway not getting into too much detail this guy asked us to do 10 push ups in a normal fashion and we all did it rather easily. I've done 100 push ups several times in the past so I could've done 10 with one arm.
After we did 10 push ups he lectured some more and then he asked us again to push ups. This time he did a 10 count going up and 10 count going down.
Holy cow!!! By the time I got to my 6th rep my arms were shaking and my chest was burning. Half of the people (45 of us in total) already quit by the 5th rep and only 3 of us were still going. It's a good thing he stopped at 10 because I don't think I would've made it to 12 or 15.
So I applied this on all my weight training routine today and I could tell it's working better. My muscles were actually toast.
