  • Hoping my car looks like this next weekend

This is a vid, of a guy who really inspired me to build my camaro the same way. He helped me a ton also. Its even the same color(Maui Blue) as my car. Some of you probly have seen this video but ever since the first time I saw it, I wanted my car to be like this one.

And heres my car: Im still learning how to tune better, and next week I'll hopefully be out on the track.

    14.74@101mph street 1/4 mile.

Am I the only one who saw a car and got inspired to mod up there V6??

That guy is a member here too, but he seldom post. Well he inspired me to finish fixing my Bird LOL. As far as modding it we'll see in the future. If my bird remains reliable I'll seriously think about it.

Good luck on your 1/4 mile run. Looking forward to it.

Just for the heck of it we should all and try to predict your run.

If you're going to run with 12lbs of boost I'm going to say that you'll do 13.5.

Damn he ran a 13.0 in a 3.1? not bad... it has been so long since my 2.8L days... Maybe after this weekend I will have a 3rd gen again.

The car in the vid, project89 on thirdgen, actually made some 12 second passes in that car also. Thats really impressive for a iron headed 60* motor! That lil car can get up and move for sure.

Ok guys wana guess my 1/4 mile times?? Im going to run 12psi of boost when I first take her down the track. Heres another video of it, just so you get a grasp of what Ive got going on.

I personally think that a 14.5-14.99 second run will be made at the very least.

I'm pretty confident you'll be in the 13's.

I haven't seen any proof of him (project89) running a 12 second pass. As far as I know I'm the only one to run a 12 second pass in an iron head, 60 degree Fbody.

Re: Hoping my car looks like this next weekend

Nice, this guy has a full 3.5L head conv. but still in a thirdgen f-body. He was peddling and still made a mid-low 12 sec pass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiZ_96qMu9c But congrats forsure on a Iorn Headded beast making 12 second passes!!

@ 2.8 bird> I think I may get in there(the 13's) I just hope this newer stall converter helps my spool up time. As you can see a street 1/4 mile for me is constant 14.7x but the trap is 100mph+. If I can just trap a 95mph+ at the strip then ill be in the very high 13's or the low 14's I would think. Launching is definitly the key at getting a good time and trap speed which will follow. I just say 14's will be the goal for the first time out as I went high 16's and low 17's last year. Any 14 will make me very happy!!!

And time and time again Ive recorded the times Via laptop also so I know the G-tech timing is close as the ecm I know is really accurate. 0-100mph constantly 15 sec flat or lower. And 0-60Mph times of 6 sec or so constantly with a stock 1600rpm stall and a crappy streat launch.

I got a buddy that layed out a 1/4 mile and was clocking mid 12 sec passes on a twin turbo thirdgen camaro. His traps were 130Mph. That 130Mph is 10 sec territory. So im effy on what Ill actually run.

We had so many members here using gtech in the past and the times made by it compare to their actual track times show that gtech is unreliable.

But we'll definately see with your track time.

Well a week from tommorow Ill hope to see some real times. From what I've heard G-tech is actually quicker then actual track time which worries me. I better not go out and run a 15.5 sec 1/4 mile:mad:
